Our momentum died as soon as he re-entered the game . His contested bricks are resulting in fastbreaks for the opponents . This is it for me . Cachooka highlights will do the trick for me unless the situation magically changes
Looks like he struggles beyond the point of even wanting to be out there, like he's out there because the fans demand it...wrong. every brick was an easy bucket on the other end. Just killing us.
so sad to see kobe's career end like this he really made a mistake not retiring after last season. a winner and all time great should not go out like this
As far as Kobe's actual play, my thoughts remain pretty much the same. We will see a few flashes here and there, but he is done. Byron refuses to reign him in which is harming the team but most of all it's harming Kobe. I cringe every time I see a three go up from him. It's weird and sad to watch a Kobe game expecting him to miss his shots instead of making them. This it though. Kobe will continue gunning his way into the sunset with a license to do pretty much anything he wants on the floor.
Wait so he's blaming the team instead of thinking, hmm maybe I need to put him in a better situation to succeed. But no I'll just continue to throw the rest of the guys under the bus and let Kobe have his way. Smdh
if you're too hurt to get back on defense, you're too hurt to play, imo. couple of times he was ahead of the break and deliberately let it go by. terrible message to the young players.
It definitely didn't look like Kobe from the Detroit game or even the Toronto game. This looked like Kobe early in the year when he was f***ing everything up which tells me he wasn't feeling great. He shouldn't be playing unless he's 100% and yes that means he should only play every 2-3 games or something, but that's the truth. When he goes out there stiff and tight he can't dribble or drive or post up effectively so he forces a ton of shots instead of becoming a spot up shooter. Useless. And the Byron quote just means that if Kobe trusted everyone he'd take less shots and if everyone trusted each other the ball would move more. I'm sure that's what was going through his head, but he's not the best communicator.
I'm not "wishing" an injury upon anyone, especially our own players, especially a player who has done so much for this franchise. But at this point, if Kobe went down with a season ending injury, it would easily be the best thing for us and our young players development. The #93 ranking ESPN gave him early in the season is actually looking a bit generous. He's honestly the 4th or 5th best player on the second worst team in the NBA.
Kobe, this is easy with the trust thing. Every time you even think about maybe shooting a 3 ..... instead throw the ball to Jordan or D'Angelo and have them shoot it for you. Problem solved. Get your a** in the post and stop being beyond stupid about this. Sad thing is when he hits a few he thinks he's old Kobe again and starts shooting even more. On top of continuing to shoot .... thinking he will work himself out of his "slump".
