I'm optimistic we'll be within 20 points for the game in NY. Can't say +/- but pretty sure within 20. Go Byron!
Not many positives to take out of this one, but I'll give it a try... 1. Ron freaking Artest is back! Or at least was back for a short span. He won't play like that every game, especially on offense, but his intensity and tenacity on D might help us win a few games this season 2. Russell looked good IMO, especially on D. He's slowly developing in the right direction. 3. Outside of the "Kobe issue", Scott seems to make some adjustments - more Artest, Black and Nance and less Kelly and Bass s definitely an improvement 4. I hope that the way Randle struggled against the Knicks' frontline will make him work on his game even more. Especially the (IMO) lost matchup against Porzingis
I'm optimistic we will have a new head coach next year. I'd like to say before next year, but I'm not that optimistic.
3 years ago today we fired Potato Head after a 1-4 start. Can we repeat history and fire Byron after a 1-5 start today? Fingers crossed.
Maybe we can "reassign" him, but there is no assistant coach who can take over. Maybe BScott is smarter than I give him credit for...
Ben Simmons is looking more and more of a reality with each loss... That's (one of) my positive spin for today...
Weak optimism guys. The most optimistic thing I have: I read a report that NY was worried they had no answers for Randle. I think again some of you guys aren't getting the significance of that because there's so much losing to focus on and so much Kobe/Byron hate that must be touched on every thread, but think about what that means. Our 20 year old phenom is not only starting to get picked up on other teams' radar, but they're afraid they can't stop him. The Knicks said they had no answers for Julius and were worried he'd eat them up inside. Now Julius was uncharacteristically flat last game, but still. Just the fact that teams are already starting to fear one of our young players should tell you a hell of a lot about what kind of future that young man has. First Draymond, then Dirk, now an entire Knicks organization. This kid is special.
We led and controlled most of this game. We were moving the ball, getting out in transition, making the Knicks shoot a lot of tough jumpshots, screen and rolls, benched played well. Then we went Kobe iso and lost the game. We didn't get blown out. We've had a chance to win three of the five games we've lost. We just gotta close out games better.
I'm optimistic that this year will be Byron Scott's last coaching job in the NBA as a head coach. Anywhere. Ever. :Headbang:
I'm disillusioned but still optimistic this roster is better than they've had the last two years.Growing pains are tough to watch, I had hoped they got to 35 wins which looks high, or maybe I was high, but still am on board with Clarkson, Randle, Nance, Black, and Russell, in that order.
Who has drafted better than us the last 2 years? Randle, Clarkson, Russell, Nance, and Brown. Great talent evaluation by our scouting department.
Still can't see us keeping that pick, but I'll be optimistic. I'm not sure about Brown at all, and at this point, I'd call him an unimpressive pick. I'm pretty pumped about all of our other picks in the past two years.
The only teams worse than us at this point are the Nets and 76ers. I actually think the Nets may improve a bit as the year goes along. They will stink, but I can definitely see us ending with the 2nd worse record in the league. It will still be tough to keep the pick, but I think we will be in the mix for it.
