Players by position and with my Offensive Efficiency Ratings:

    Ruseell 75 Huertas 90
    Clarkson 71 Lou Williams 76 J. Brown 56
    Kobe 80 Young 59 A. Brown 46 Peace 43
    Randle 83 Bass 79 Nance 75 Kelly 61 Holmes 75
    Hibbert 84 Black 79 Sacre 62

I don't understand Holmes's status. It sounds like he can be waived and not count against the roster even if LA has to continue paying his salary because of the injury.

I take it Holmes will be gone. I'd drop Peace, too. Thoughts?

Perfect. Although, I'd get rid of J.Brown.

Rather than Metta and/or Anthony Brown?

I wouldn't keep Ron. Anthony Brown has a guaranteed so that discussion is moot. I'd keep 14 of our best guys on the roster and keep our flexibility.

My final answer of who I'd keep today:

    Russell/Huertas
    Clarkson/Williams
    Bryant/Young/A. Brown/World Peace
    Randle/Bass/Kelly/Nance Jr.
    Hibbert/Black/Sacre

I'd gladly cut Sacre or Metta for a better player if we had one, but we don't. I wouldn't be upset if either of them were cut for the final roster. I don't want Jabari Brown on the team.

Am I insane for being more impressed with Nance than Bass? WTF happened to his automatic midrange shot?

Bass has been hurt. Nance is an all out effort dude. As the game slows down for him, he'll probably LOOK more impressive than Bass on the regular. When Bass's J is on, he's probably more valuable than Nance. My thoughts.

I forgot about Bass' injury. That's probably fair.

I think Bass plays better as the 4.

They could cut both for all I care...I say that as a guy who supported Ron, but he's done.

I'm not getting how people think Ron is done when the team plays better D when he comes into the game. Of course, he can't start and play 36 a night anymore. But as a bench player whose specialty is to raise defensive intensity for key portions of the game he is the guy. And there is the intangible factor of his influence over the young guys on the team who rave about what they are learning from him.

For a 25-28 win team, I guess you have a point.

We have a lot of young, borderline talents on this squad. I wouldn't be surprised if JaBari's gone and Metta is there for stabilizing purposes (My God! Did I just write that?).

I still think we'll win 34 games or so.

I had us pegged at 32-34 wins earlier in the preseason. Now, I'm not so sure.

My eye test (have adopted this term courtesy of LGL when Clarkson was in Summer League 2 years ago.... it's a good term, more fun than "observations") says Jabari can really score the ball and is only going to get better and he has decent speed and a good solid build on him. Thick. That sucks because I really want Metta on the team and would hate to lose that. And vice versa. Anthony Brown they're going to keep and Nance and Black.
