Personally I feel like that was part of last year's stealth tank. Whatever, glad he's playing the correct position and doing well off the bench.

Everybody knew he belonged at the 4; it wasn't rocket science. Anyway, keep him at the 4; play the 5 now and again, and he'll have a productive season. It will increase his trade value, too.

He has made some big improvements, I'm happy to say I was wrong about him.

I'm glad to see the FO's patience with RK paying off. I have to admit, I wasn't one of his biggest proponents early on. Bigs can take a while and especially when you are playing a stretch 4 out of position. I don't know what the fascination with a 6'10" SF is anyways, the mismatch works both ways, height vs speed.

I think he's made some improvements - puts the ball on the floor, rebounds a little more. But he's essentially the package he was coming out of college.

He probably has a role in the league but his defense is terrible. He's just not strong despite being long and gets handled down below by bigs. Other stretch 4's in the league can at least somewhat body up down low, but not Kelly. If he's going to be a stretch 4 on the floor, the 5 and the 3 need to be elite defensively to cover for his weaknesses.

That being said I still like him. I just don't know where he fits into the rotation among Bass, Randle, Black, Sacre and Hibbert.

If Nance can hit his jumper consistently, trade Kelly. Showcase him now, work on Nance's shot, and he's actually a much better fit on both ends.

And actually he's not. Kelly is the only Big we have that can knock down 3s with a good stroke. That is going to be the case for awhile. I DO like Nancy. Keep them both.

    Change of pace.

All those guys are bruisers, but sometimes you need to show a different look to throw off defenses. Kelly would be the only outside shooter in that bunch.

Actually, he can. However, he could spend most of his time in the D-league working and honing skills, while Kelly plays with Bass/Black in different rotations this year. I have no problem with that. I'd like to see Nance get more PT during the 2nd half the season, though.

Well I hope you're right, I like him a lot and what he brings. Shorter 3 pt line in College .... however many attempts, 30.8% but over 50% from the field. Don't know how many dunks contributed.

He shot 34% from three and had hit an unusually high percentage catching and shooting. While I like Kelly, he still struggles defensively. Nance is way more valuable on that end, and I think in due time will displace Kelly from the rotation, but it all hinges on that jump shot.

Sir, this seems like a very inappropriate thing to say.

Probably the biggest revelation of the pre-season. He's playing smart. Hitting his shots consistently. Today he was hitting the mid-range shot on the pick and pop which isn't really that common for typical "stretch fours". Able to put the ball on the floor and attack. And I know we gave up almost 140 points, but defensively he's not that bad.

Maybe it's just a case of him balling out of his mind to preserve his roster spot. But if he continues playing like this, he's not a third stringer. He's a legitimate rotation player.

I admit I didn't see this coming. I thought he'd be pushed out the door, but he'll actually be pushing someone else out the door

A case of gaining experience, confidence and finally being healthy. Starting to see some attitude as well. Last years low wattage team is shaping up to high beam halogens. We didn't have defensive minded guys or even team guys in many cases.
