Agreed. I just always felt like the people pinning this on Kobe were full of crap. Good to see Aldridge at least trying to clear that up.
So I'm guessing Jabari Brown got the spot instead of Upshaw, and the rest of the team will be pretty much a given.
Still on the block are Metta, Jabari, and Holmes. Russell/Huertas Clarkson/Williams Bryant/Young Randle/Bass/Kelly/Nance Jr. Hibbert/Black/Sacre I think those are your locks. Still only two spots left and that's if we go with a full 15 man roster...
I feel like Metta is making the team. Like Stu and Billy Mac were saying last night, when he comes in the game the defensive intensity of the whole team goes up. We got like a couple 24 second violations in a row when he came in. That intensity on defense could be valuable in certain moments. You add that to his mentoring our players and how much they seem to love the guy and I think he's worth keeping around.
It's my understanding we can waive him, but it means paying the entirety of his contract so there's some disincentive, but it's not impossible. I could be wrong though.

I think if we had to choose between Jabari and Metta, I'd go with Metta. I don't think firepower on this roster is an issue, and he's a gunner. We have Kobe, Clarkson, Randle, Russell, Hibbert, Lou, Nick..... Offense is not an issue. Defense and veteran presence will probably be more valuable for this squad.

I mentioned earlier today I just don't see a huge gap where he is in the near future a bunch better than Sacre for the 3rd position center spot. (sorry, trodgers, I was with you a long time on this guy) "Bob", I did my best for you Buddy. Maybe it's those crazy eyes of yours just scared em off. Seriously, I do believe by now, since getting cut from your second College team many months ago, that you should have been further along physically, conditioning wise and skills wise than you appear to be at this point in time. The guy doesn't seem to be the game changer we all wanted him to be.
