Report: Lamar Odom's Condition Hasn't Shown Improvement

Lamar Odom has shown no signs of consciousness or improvement two days after being admitted to the hospital.

Four of Odom's organs, includes his kidneys, continue to fail.

"The doctors are concerned it has been too long that he's been in this condition and now it's not looking good," said a source.

Doctors reportedly gave Odom a 50/50 chance of survival on Wednesday.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported late Wednesday evening that Odom had made some small improvements.

Lamar Odom remained on life support and in a coma Thursday in a Las Vegas hospital, but a source close to him told ESPN that he has continued to make small progress over the past 24 hours.

Hopefully, it is but the first step of many to a full and healthy recovery.

 

Odom Briefly Woke from Coma

"Although [Odom] has stayed on life support and in a coma at a Las Vegas hospital, the former Lakers and Clippers forward continue to make progress with his recovery," reported Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News on Thursday. "Odom woke up briefly and showed some responsiveness with his body language on Thursday, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation."

Medina previously reported Odom made improvements, but "the sentiment is still more pessimistic than optimistic."

There was some improvement in Odom's condition last night," ESPN's Ramona Shelburne reported Thursday. "But he's still very much fighting for his life."

 

Some quick thoughts...

- It would be easy to call Master P an idiot but the guy probably just feels bad for his friend and lashed out at Kobe for not "getting Lamar back on the team", which is a ridiculous thing to think Kobe should have done. Obviously the Laker Family meant a lot to Lamar, but at the end of the day it's a business and you can't be filling roster spots out of friendship.

- All the "sending prayers up to LO" posts from all the NBA players rubs me the wrong way. If you care about the dude, like someone mentioned earlier, send him a direct msg, it would mean a lot more. (Although maybe they also did send private msgs, the whole public support thing just seems a touch too self-promoting, "Look at me! I care!")

- In that interview with Metta you can tell he's hurting. It's odd to see him so somber and at a loss for words.

- The Kardashians and Jesse Jackson are publicity seeking ******.

- I echo the sentiments of many posters who have said you can't help an addict that doesn't want help. That's the truth.

- Lamar has been dealt a crappy hand in many regards, including the death of so many loved ones and close friends, however he's also led a very fortunate life making boatloads of money to play a game. I have an extreme fondness for Lamar. He seems like a fantastic, generous soul, however the only person responsible for Lamar Odom's current predicament is Lamar Odom.
