Additional note, the players that are on the Lakers roster in the D-League are untouchable. Everyone else is free game.
There's a way we can do it so that we can allocate Frazier and Holmes to our D-League affiliate without risking losing them. If we waive them before the D-League draft we can allocate them with D-League deals in our system. We can do with 3-4 players.
Wow ....... I want to go to war with those guys this year! Feel the same. Get into the playoffs healthy. It would be like having a huge El Nino in CA after these multiple years of drought (which is predicted this year by the way) to have us an unusually healthy year.
http://dystnow.com/2015/10/12/lakers-considering-signing-larry-sanders/ I wonder how credible is this guy. Eric Pincus is following him though.
Why? Do we need another freaking PF sized guy / big man? NOOOOO. Give Brandon Bass, Ryan Kelly all those back up minutes to Randle. Already they have to not put Nance and Holmes on the roster .... no room.
Sanders is a PF/C. Definitely taller/longer than Tarik. He's defensive minded and I believe an LA kid. Definitely a head case... I'd take a flier on him over Upshaw or Sacre at this point though to be honest.
Nah, he's not a LA kid. He's from Florida. But the Lakers do need a back up center who can protect the rim. Even if they keep Upshaw who I think isn't ready.
I thought I remembered him being connected to LA somehow? Either way, I agree. Take the shot on him if he wants. He's more talented than Sacre and more capable to help now than Upshaw.
Probably won't get playing time there since they have centers in Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee and Samuel Dalembert.
I know Dalembert is already hurt and I thought McGee was too. His only really serious competition (assuming he can still play at a high level) is Zaza.
Nah, the only connection he's got with LA was he played in the Drew League this past summer and was Nick's teammate on that team.
We've been rumored to be interested in him for a while, including back when he was negotiating his buy out in February. That's what I was remembering. http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/tag/larry-sanders/
If he can shake his demons and can regain an interest in basketball, we're talking about one of the five best defensive/rebounding bigs in the league. We do have a recent history of projects and he is infinitely better than anyone we have up front not named Hibbert or Randle. Move/cut whoever else IF the FO believes they can make it work. D would be nasty with Hibbert, Sanders, and MWP.
