I miss Ellington more than Henry. That dude played hard, he almost cost us a few tank games, good teammate too.

I wish Wayne had stuck around, but he got a big opportunity to get closer to home and family and contribute. Good on him.

I'm definitely not loving Jabari as much as I'd hoped.

Me neither but then even more I want his roster position. Have to have Metta. Have to have Upshaw.

Ron didn't look particularly great last game. I could see him frustrating me at the end of the preseason. Initially, I wanted Ron, but I have to see more of him. I also want to see more of Holmes; I liked his activity last night.

Agreed that Ron looked pedestrian last night. But I'm still big on keeping him. I think he does more good than bad, and I don't like Jabari Brown one bit thus far. It's his attitude even more than his mediocre/bad play although that hurts too. Ron wasn't bad. He just wasn't that good. Jabari's been plain bad and doesn't look like a team player at all.

I was impressed with Holmes. His rebounding was pretty insane. 6 boards in limited minutes.

Gotcha. I'd like to keep Ron, too. I think he's just better in limited minutes. Ron's a guy who needs to eat free throw line extended down...

Ron is not so much about stats at this point. We are paying him for setting an example and being a leader. He'll have a great defensive game here and there too. It's not like replacing him with some other random guy will suddenly make us a contender or anything. I'd rather have Ron this year and let him teach the kids.

^Well, if one of the random kids has 'potential,' I'd cut Ron in a minute. Nevertheless, Frazier and Brown haven't impressed. I think Upshaw might be headed toward the D-league, and I need to see more of Holmes. However, I think Ron stays on the roster. Essentially, for a minimum contract, he's probably worth it just as a mentor to Randle and the other young players.

I agree... but aside from our obvious "future star potential" players... there just isn't much left out there. Except Upshaw, who can be someone in this league, but it's a moot point, since him and Ron don't really compete for a spot and Upshaw will most likely spend some time in the D-League. So, I pretty much agree on everything you wrote above. ^

Intangibles .... Metta a 10, Holmes an undrafted rookie scrub with a little promise, and another PF ..... 0. Don't weanie out on MWP now. Unless he gets hurt bad in pre-season and has to be left off the roster. IMHO.

Giving the young kid a chance? I'm fine with it. We gave the young man a 3 year contract, we need to see if he's got what it takes.

Guessing Kobe starts at the 2 and Jordan at the 1 and Randle at 4. Eh?

    Update

Russell does indeed want to play, and it is Vitti and the Lakers being cautious. Good to hear, don't want to hear the kid is a baby with that bruised butt.

Any updates on Huertas? I really want to see him out there, and as we saw with Russell, the bench really shines when they have a playmaker not named Lou.

By the way, Anthony Brown didn't look ready. He was invisible out there with the starters. 3 and D guy? He didn't do any of either. I think he needs time in the D league.
