Anyone hear SAS on First Take today? Dude sounded like a movie villain going at it with Durant.... This whole situation is stupid and sounds like it belongs in August, not October training camp.

What the hell? :D Is that supposed to be a threat or something? I knew Stephen A was full of himself, but that was incredibly unprofessional and cringe-worthy, he did sound like a movie villain. Shoot, Durant might not come here to spite Stephen A, just so he can't say "I told you so", after crap like that.

Seems pretty juvenile, but when Durant flippantly calls a guy a liar in the press, you have to expect for a person who protects his integrity to say something.

    Immature on Durant's part.

    Completely overboard on SAS's part

I would imagine this is over, but yikes!

What makes me mad is that this pretty much ends any chance of us getting KD next summmer....as stupid as this sounds...I really think that KD will purposely NOT come to the Lakers because of this ordeal, whether we have a good team or not. SAS made damn sure of that just now...ugh.

I think Durant eventually apologizes, and it's water under the bridge. Nothing to see in two weeks, and the money he could make in a market like LA will far exceed any ego hit he takes by backing down on this issue. It's really a non issue in two weeks is my guess.

Oh look, my 1 year anniversary, and 1,000 posts. [IMG] And not a single suspension!!! [IMG]

Well now he is definitely not coming to the Lakers, just so he can prove SAS is a liar...damn.

If Durant doesn't come over that, he wasn't coming anyways. It's not like SAS is on our side rooting for us.

This whole beef is absurd. Honestly, I side with Screaming A on it. Not sure what Durant is doing, but he's not making any media allies this year. Sometimes those are good to have, especially when your people are going to want FA stories spun in their favor. Between this and his rant in Feb about Coach Brooks, I'm not sure I want him in LA or that he can hack it. Rather, he's looking more and more like a Dwight who will cower under the bright lights, go on the defensive, and f*** up our locker room. Go to DC where they have more important things to cover, like politics. He'd get eaten alive in NY or LA, doesn't seem like today he's cut out for that level of attention, scrutiny, or press.

Yeah, it's not like he can escape the bright lights out here like he can in OKC.

I think he'd fit right in here in LA with the media. He'd take right over from Kobe, who the media hate or at least have a prickly relationship with.

Not going to lie but I can't see any way possible how SAS continuing this argument with Durant helps us land him after this year. If anything Durant will just go back home to WAS or stay just to spite SAS.

Sneaky moves by OKC using SAS, I guess they'll keep Durant now.

Seriously. If some perceived beef between a talk show personality from NY is enough to keep Durant away from LA then he was never coming here in the first place. That makes zero cents!

I do find this whole thing bewildering. Durant calls out Smith publicly, calls him a liar, and embarrasses him. Then Smith has the chance to be an adult about it and turns into a Batman TV villain from the Adam West era. What a clown. Durant needs to just kill this himself, it's beneath his stature in the world to be arguing with Smith.
