^No problem. FWIW, I want Metta on the team as well.

I actually totally disagree with his minutes. The last time I saw Metta play in a Laker uniform he was significantly worse than Nick. He had very little athleticism, his shot wasn't falling, and he was making really strange decisions on the court (posting up under the rim and bricking layups... oi). I assume he's better than Anthony Brown.

I honestly don't want him on the floor very often when he's here. The only reason I would want him on the floor is as an enforcer in physical games or if someone was in foul trouble. I also wouldn't want him guarding SFs for very long because he's lost a lot of the athleticism that he had.

I DEFINITELY still want him on the team, but he's not a very good player anymore. He'd be here as a mentor getting very limited minutes unless something goes very wrong or unless he's completely transformed himself since the last time he wore our uniform.

It's all good. I like Metta. I think we need another vet for such a young team. If/When he's signed, we'll at least be entertained...

That's ALL that Mason and Ireland were all over this signing about yesterday, if it happens ...... the "entertainment value" of having Metta back on the team in this kind of season. No mention of the true and real intangibles he will bring. Then again I only heard them for about 10 minutes.

    My idea here for Metta:

    Russell (25)/ Huertas (15)/ Clarkson (8)
    Clarkson (20)/ Williams (28)
    Bryant (28)/ Young (20)
    Randle (25)/ Bass (23)
    Hibbert (28)/ Black (20)

Then you have guys like Jabari, Metta, and Sacre or Upshaw who still play decent minutes, but they're not necessarily in the "main" rotation. They'll get minutes in certain situations like someone is in foul trouble, a certain match-up needs a certain response, etc. I see Metta and Jabari getting a few minutes every night, but nothing more than 8-10 on any give night.

Yes, Metta is better than Brown, who hasn't played an NBA game. Sure. But he's not better than Swag. Young can run circles around him at this point in their career. Young is one of the better players in the league at getting his own shot from anywhere on the court. He's crazy athletic too. Metta can't jump anymore. Like... at all. He can probably still defend in limited minutes, I do believe that.

I wonder if Metta is also teaching the Princeton Offense to the team there since he has several years of experience with the offense.

Love all those guys there so freaking early this season getting after it. [IMG]

Would like it even a lot more if Upshaw was there too. We need some good intel on where he is and how he's looking with his conditioning and his game.

I wonder why Ryan Kelly isn't there right now working out, building chemistry with the fellas and learning the Princeton?

Hopefully because they have told him Metta has taken his place on this year's roster. And I like Ryan. Last year got screwed up at the outset with the major hamstring issue. He certainly hasn't peaked IMO because he hasn't been healthy for any extended period of time since coming out of college with the foot issue until now with the hamstrings last year.

Look at MWP, being all grown up and chaperoning gym time for the kids. I wonder if he had a whistle in hand.
