The language is what I'm thinking. Snipes was a potty mouth in those movies. There's some issue with blood and gore but not anything you can't get around.

I'm down for it and I've said it since day one. I'd love Blade to be part of Marvel. Those movies were fun and kicked off the first successful Marvel movies. It'd be really cool if those were made into canon.

Blade joining the Netflix Defenders would be awesome! I mean Blade in general is awesome, who doesn't like a half vampire hunting vampires with a katana.

Seems to me like Netflix can slowly become the home of the grittier Marvel characters.

Oh it's already there. DD was a REALLY good show and the 2nd season is poised to bring it up a notch. The show that I think will surprise people as one of the best Marvel products is AKA Jessica Jones. The comic this show is based on is insanely dark and twisted and the showrunner says they were able to mimic a lot of that feeling in the show itself. It's got a chance to really, really surprise people.

I don't know much about the characters Netflix want to use but the way you are describing it seems awesome. I know Punisher is going to add a great dynamic to DD. What is next on Netflix's list of Marvel shows?

Not sure but I think these pics are official. No word on Hulk, Spiderman and Scarlet Witch but as of now Cap's team looks grossly over matched. Vision alone can take all of them on. Black Widow might be a double agent and I honestly thought Black Panther was going to be neutral.

I'm thinking they'll work to introduce Moon Knight at some point. Blade is a natural fit. Punisher probably will get a spin-off. Ghost Rider is a possibility.

Yeah those two teams are pretty clearly unbalanced :D

I'm thinking Panther changes sides at some point like Spider-Man does in the comics. Other than that though... How does Cap's team even compete?

I'm psyched for this. That shot with the glass breaking is right out of the book and everything I'm hearing is they won't shy away from the graphic nature of her comic book. It should get really interesting and it'll be by far the darkest thing Marvel has done so far.

That's DC, not Marvel, get with it sirron. Pretending I know what I'm talking about aside, I have no idea who Jessica Jones is.

Jessica Jones is maybe the darkest character Marvel ever made. She lead the way for the Marvel Max series which is basically rated R comic books. These books go into more adult themes and are able to use adult language and situations.

Jones is a former superhero now trying to make it in the world as a private investigator. Without spoiling too much, she has an "incident" with a villain called Purple Man. I know he sounds dumb, but he's one of the best villains in Marvel. Purple Man excretes pheromones so powerful he can make people do everything he wants and he uses this for his own sick pleasures. Murder, rape, robbery, etc. He's not one of those villains who has a redeemable quality or is just misunderstood or what have you. He's just a bad dude with bad intentions.

Any way he has a traumatic run in with Jessica which convinces her that despite her powers, she's not cut out for hero life. She's just a girl trying to get by.

The comic is called Alias. It's fantastic and a dark, fascinating ride.

If you ever get a chance to read "Alias", go for it! It's probably the most mature Marvel title I've read (most of their Max titles are anyway). But as realdeal said, it's really dark. It's a side of superheroes that we rarely get to see dealing with the darker side of humanity. It's one of my favorite Brian Michael Bendis written titles (the other being his Daredevil run).

It's awesome she's finally getting her own series on Netflix!

Never heard of Jessica Jones, so thanks for the recap real.

I just finished watching season 1 of Daredevil for the first time. Ummmm, why didn't you guys tell me about this show?!? (jk)

It is the best superhero tv show ever. Better than Heroes season 1, better than Marvel AoS season 2. Just amazing show.

Did VDO win any award for Wilson Fisk? If not they should cancel the Emmys. Best bad guy ever. My first impression of him as Kingpin was, "Not sure this is going to work". My final impression was "This is how Kingpin should have been in the comics".

I loved all the casting, the overall storyline, most of the side stories, the dialogue, and especially the fight sequences. My favorites were the hall fight in episode 2 and the showdown with the Red Ninja.

So many awesome little details. Like how Fisk sprinkled stuff on his omelets in the morning. Great idea to parallel the stories of Fisk and Murdock. I was really surprised that they killed off Wesley and the reporter. I expected them to remain core characters.

For those that know the storyline, who is the guy that Stick was kneeling in front of with his back to the camera?

Did you like the Christian Bale Batman movies? It has a similar dark, gritty streets of city feel to it, but with top level acting.
