Call me crazy but I don't mind how things turned out

Keep Shaq and you lose Kobe to the Tenants..
Keep both somehow and Shaq deteriorates and the rebuilding is delayed

We took a couple of bad seasons but ended up having parades again

Kobe is being nice, but he didn't respect the lack of work ethic from Shaq.

Once he was gone and he had Kwahmay Brown, and then Pao, he realized how lucky he was to play with Shaq.

Shaq appeared unwilling to let go of his hold on the team because of his ego, and couldn't play second fiddle. He was never the same player when he left, so while its a fun debate, it's pointless because it wouldn't have worked.

The bigger question for me was if you put Kobe in Shaq's body, would there be any meaningful records left?

Is that directed at me? I did not intend to say anything mocking to anyone, but I like the pictures just the same. [IMG]

Your question was waaay too easy. Kobe in Shaq's body ..... any records left? [IMG] I saw through the veiled sarcasm [IMG] .... you were trying to find dummies amongst us. Maybe I did take it too personal but just was not going to let that happen.

Give us more Lakers NEWS already and this will all go away. [IMG] Maybe.

Maybe I should mention I haven't watched a TV in years, and only recently took up Netflix again. I'm often clueless on world events, and it's usually a blessing. Sounds like you are referencing that dude channeling Miley or something, but I remain in the dark for better or worse. :)

But it's kind of fun being accused of sophisticated posting and being asked via PM if Roo's records via spreadsheet held a candle to my personal vault. I have no records lol. [IMG]

Just the thought of a Roo keeping spreadsheet records on postings of members on a Lakers forum is frightening. At least I know you mean no harm if you do it. I think?? [IMG]

Warning for easily offended types ..... one little quickie quickie "bleeping" in this clip. The guy is frightened, as I just said above, and he hasn't even been on LB to experience what we have. [IMG] [IMG]

This is going to be must listen come Monday.

But yes, they really should have stayed together, With all that said it is a miracle it worked for as long as it did that dymanic and dominate duo. Kobe = all work, all drive to be the best, but also can come across as being too hard on teammates because he expects a lot. Shaq = doesn't work as hard but is beloved by all his teammates.

I knew the day would eventually come when they would regret some of the things they did and some of the things they said. It's certainly entertaining seeming them interact with each other and if you don't think so then you need to get a pulse or stop lying to yourself. Two alpha males, who are arguablly the greatest 1-2 punch the game has ever had.

I'm happy with what has happened even though part of me will always wonder what if.....

But isn't that part of the beauty of sports, the what if

I agree. The lowest point of it all though ..... was after the C Bags took us out in the finals and Shaq did that unforgivable (I would have thought) rap ..... asking Kobe over and over how his bleep tasted. Talk about low blows. Kobe always took the higher ground, except for that one beautiful, epic BLAST on air towards Shaq and his crap right after Jackson told them both to say no more, shut up and just play. He'd had enough.

They did screw up, but I'm not sure it didn't work out for the best. Not sure we could have paid Kobe and Shaq both what they wanted and continued to put a competetive team around them. Malone and Payton took little money to try and win, but aside from them and Fisher, the roster had gotten pretty bad. After that Shaq continued to get fatter and fatter, and jump from team to team. It's possible he and Kobe could have gotten one more, because Kobe was that good, but the West remained tough, it wasn't like getting out of the East with Wade and Miami.
