Well, Lakers need a wing defender, need a veteran and knows the Princeton Offense so why not? Kobe's gotta have another guy that he can trust that'll light a fire under their butt's. I've been saying for weeks that the Lakers should sign him.

I am 1000% in favor of this. We need SF depth. We need veteran (albeit a little crazy) leadership. Any defense is welcomed. We aren't winning this year. Might as well let the kids pick his brain and learn how to play rough and tough ball. Randle already plays bully ball, MWP could help him. He and Bass off the bench would give us some mean sumb****es in that second unit. Not to mention, it'd be fun seeing he and Kobe for Kobe's last ride. If there's one person Kobe trusts to go to war with him in any scenario, it's Metta.

A part of me laughs at this, and the other wants it to happen.

The idea crossed my mind when it was reported that he was practicing with the squad during preseason scrimmages. Crazy notion then...

As funny as this sounds I really want Mitch to do it, MWP can help Kobe whip these young guns into shape.

He's definitely in shape. In fact some might think he looks a little thin.

I'd absolutely love to bring him back for 2 reasons:

    1) He'll be a great mentor to our young guys for what it takes to be in great shape and how to prepare yourself for the NBA lifestyle. Plus, he likely wont play a ton of minutes so he could provide some decent defensive quality time out there on the court.

    2) Brings back great memories

    3) There's a much hyped small forward signing across the hall that is asking "wtf?" if this happens.

Im totally in favor of this.

MWP is exactly the player Randle needs to see and work with to learn defensive concepts that will work for his size and strength. I'd want him on the squad this year if he never sees a minute n the floor if for no other reason than as a mentor

That's actually kind of insulting. Ronnie Price was never good lol.

Metta, from what I remember, is washed up as a player. He'd be coming in as a mentor, locker room presence, and more of a player development coach, IMO.

I bet he would still play 10-15 min a game. I'd be ok with that.
