What the...!? Brice Butler time. Maybe this will give Josh Harper some throws...reconnect with Carr. Durham? Austin Willis was just cut. Good to know we have depth at the position.
We've got options. I like Holmes's skills, but we're not hopeless if he's out a few weeks. You're right; haven't seen Harper with Carr. Let's roll.
^I have to add that one telling moment in the last game was how Carr tried to sneak in an extra set of time then was promptly called back to the sidelines by the staff while they whisked in Ponder. You can tell just how excited he is with the new players on offense and Musgrave's plans.
Team brings in Devon Wylie ex-Fresno State wide-out and Carr teammate his senior year. Reports that the move is to bolster the return game and provide motivation to Holliday about getting his stuff together. Looking back, Seth Roberts snagged all the passes thrown his way. Yet another sleeper that is overlooked. It's only the second of the preseason but I am anxious to see the Saturday's game.
alright fellas...me and the boys are deciding the more winnable/exciting game to go to this year...which would you guys choose? @san diego vs Jets vs Vikings
Jets. That is winnable because their QB situation isn't imposing regardless of whoever it is. Vikings could be good with Peterson in action. Chargers will be good since there are always Raider fans there too. All are toss-ups. Be as it may, this year's squad will be competitive, a handful and won't get rolled over easily as the last two seasons. We will not be an easy "W" this time.
Let's do a positional breakdown. Rank the players. Who's making the cut? Quarterback 1. Carr 2. Ponder 3. McGloin 4. Fajardo (Practice Squad) QB 1. Carr Derek Carr started 16 games as a rookie, posted three wins, and accounted for 3362 yards and 21 TDs. He's the clearcut starter for Oakland. 2. Ponder Christian Ponder has appeared in 38 games in his NFL career, starting 36, and posting a 14-21-1 record. This makes him the most experienced QB on the roster. He has accounted for 7297 yards of total offense and 45 TDs. Ponder's experience will likely earn him the backup spot. 3. McGloin Matt McGloin has started six games, winning one of them. He has thrown for 1676 yards and 9 TDs, while adding 30 more yards on the ground. He's an adequate backup who seems to be very comfortable in Oakland. He could become a fixture in Oakland as a backup. 4. Fajardo Cody Fajardo posted monstrous stats at Nevada, twice accounting for 2000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing in a season. He finished with 9659 yards passing, 57 TDs, and 29 INTs through the air but added an absurd 3482 yards and 44 TDs on the ground. He did, however, go 0-3 in Bowl Games, won just 21 of 45 total games, and adjusting from his college level of competition to the NFL could take quite some time. He could be stashed on the practice squad and given that time.
If I can find this game on TV, I'm going to be posting here. If I can't find it on TV, I'll still probably be here posting during the game.
Asante walked off under his own power Only this Vikings kicker is having a worse game than Hayden who got burned
Asante walks off under his own power, according to the powers of Twitter. No pressure on Bridgewater, leading to a TD pass.
