What is this newfangled "offense" you speak of? We don't need these fancy new-age idea, we go and smash people.

26 wins is a ridiculous projection.

I mean with all due respect- last year with all those injuries, with booze, wes and ronny "sharpshooter" price, with jordan hill shooting 20footers we got 21 wins in the loaded West. We got rid of all the scum (except for Mr. Davis- he was goooode), Randle is back, we've got a 3rd draft pick, hibbert and the 6th men of the year and (fingers crossed) a healthy Kobe, Clarkson cannot be worse then last year either. How the f can we only get 26 wins? God forbid we gonna have the same bad luck as last year, we still will get 30 wins. With luck and healthy roster may be even 45, my 40w prediction is based on an "average" amount of luck.

Yeah, I mean the last two years were bad, but we had the most amount of games lost due to injuries those years. I sincerely believe Kobe himself brings us to more than 26 wins.

I'm going to keep my hopes high and pray for 40+.. a playoff chance would take a miracle. A strong 40+ wins season would look good for this club that's for sure.. going to be awfully hard attract any talent otherwise. I think they have enough pieces to do 35 for sure.. 40's not that far fetched.

I still think if Kobe puts together a strong season and the club overall does better than anticipated.. we're going to see him back '16-'17. Even if he plays in the Olympics.

Say whatever else anyone wants to say about Byron. But's let's assume at some point the F.O. did talk to him behind the scenes and say, hey we don't want you to ever not have guys playing their hearts out to win, but we want lineups such that give us a final result of keeping this top 5 pick. It's necessary for the franchise going forward. I believe that happened. The F.O. including Jeanie would have been morons not to. If that was the case Byron was brilliant. Never did it look like we were tanking. With the injuries and wink wink lineups like any other teams in the league at times .... the Lakers competed like muthas. Far more talent this year with no such restrictions. His dream job. Let's see what he does. If Kobe thinks offensive or defensive schemes are killing them when they could be far more effective, doing adjustments, Kobe's going to let him know. That's always been a plus having Scott or Fisher if he had this position. Mutual respect.

Except before we started to tank, he was running stuff in the preseason that basketball people considered 'prehistoric' and predicted our struggles heading into the season. We started off 1-9, had a 3 game winning streak in December, and decided about the time Kobe went out w/his shoulder injury to decide to start losing game apparently.

There were probably something's that Byron did to enhance the chances of us losing games, but that doesn't change my opinion on what we have in Byron; a placeholder as head coach. WTS, the over/under on wins for this team should be around 32 wins. That will be what I grade Byron on this season. I hope he and this team exceed expectations...
