I thought it was a great finale. Some truly terrific scenes. I hope Morgan sticks around and isn't just there for a few episodes. Even with the limited scene time he's had, he's one of my absolute favorite characters. I was thrilled his cop show with Mark Strong didn't work out for just that reason. He's a great actor though, he was fantastic in Jericho. His Book of Eli scene to start the episode was Badass. If he sticks around, got to weed out some characters though. It's getting a little crowded. I hope the priest gets bit in the first episode. He doesn't deserve to live. He let his congregation die, nearly let paradise get overtaken if not for Rick. Nicholas deserves it too. He's damn lucky that was Glenn and not any one else from the group. otherwise, he would've gotten what he deserved. How does Glenn go from wanting to go back to terminus to finish them off to letting this j****** live though? Rick's speech reminded me of his "this is not a democracy speech " before the prison. I saw a meme today comparing Rick wanting to kill the husband to Shane and Rick. Left me pondering this: how do you think this Rick would've handled Shane? Would he have still butted heads with him? He's becoming more like him and realizing what's necessary to survive in this world.
Doc I agree with your take on why not to kill someone, I just think it would have been more dramatic and fun to have one of them cross the line. And Nicolas definitely deserves to die. He tried to kill Glenn! I mean I suspect most of Alexandria has abandoned people, but he shot a dude and then left him under three walkers. That guy needs to die. Awesome Shane question J. I think if Rick ran into Shane from season two, the two of them see eye to eye on some things. The key with Shame though was that he was so willing to go to that distance so easily, without the ****fest that our group has seen, that it begs the question how much further would he go? Shane would turn into the Governor before he turned into this version of Rick. A season 5 Shane? What would he be willing to do to survive?
For those that don't read the comics or didn't know they changed their mind on offing Carol in the prison, this is an interesting read http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/03/the-walking-dead-decision/ Would be a very different show.
Her character in the comics was a weird creeper and I didn't miss her. All they've really done is turn Carol into the comic version of Andrea which is cool with me.
The comparison between current Rick and Shane is interesting, but I don't think it holds up. Yes, Shane was ruthlessly pragmatic in the way that Rick now is ... but Shane was also just plain crazy. He wanted to kill Rick, not so much because of Rick's leadership ideas, but because he wanted Rick's wife and kids for himself.
^ the same thoughts were going through Rick's head when he nearly pulled the gun on the husband when he saw him put his arm around the wife when they crossed paths in the street.
But a) he didn't do it and b) it took him a long time to get here. Shane was willing to do it too quickly. We just don't know what kind of person he'd be at this point, but I'm guessing he'd be a psycho murderer like the Governor.
Could you ever see Rick shooting another random survivor in the leg so the zombies caught him and Rick could get away? Naw, even this Rick has a sense of right and wrong that Shane never had
Villain rumors... http://uproxx.com/tv/2015/08/walking-dead-season-6-negan/ Don Draper joining TWD would be epic
I'm really excited for Fear the Walking Dead, I'm sometimes more fascinated by how the zombie apocalypse starts rather than when it already happens. But yeah the trailers for it look really good. Also glad that Kim d***ens finally gets a bigger role, she's always good in movies and TV shows I've seen her in.
I always fine the recently dead scarier than the long dead like in TWD show. The recently dead are usually much faster, and that would be terrifying. I'm really looking forward to this new show
I totally agree. Had The Walking Dead had zombies like the ones in the movie 28 Days Later or 28 Weeks Later it would be so much scarier. Also I think if the show was on HBO or something it would be that much better too.
If zombies ever become a reality and they're fast? Eh screw it. I'm not gonna make it through that. The new show looks interesting. I'm excited about the idea of it. Hopefully it's good enough to tide us over until we see Rick and the group again.
