The fact he can't recognize this is concerning.

So Pablo claims Kawhi had another deal with the Clippers. This is stupid. They might be the dumbest team in league history. Between this and the Paul George trade.

at this point Kawhi might be suspended for the season. And Ballmer might get a two year suspension. This is crazy!!!!!!!

Going to the Lakers would be risky on his part with how the team is built and who the coach is. We need someone that can play PF and also play small ball center and he is not it. could end up as a reserve and wont be happy. Can they use him is someone gets injured yes. Lets say Luka misses 15 -20 games. He would then be ideal. So it just all depends on what the cost is to get what could be a rental player for a team that is perceive not to win a title this season.

As i fan i wont mind him in La for the right price. Basketball wise of all the rumored teams Wolves may be his best fit.

Idawg, why do you continue to just ignore Mamu as the small ball center? That was his main position. And continue to talk about needing one? He may also play some PF.

wait yo i forgot about this player. In this case we should be set. We can be patent to evaluate the team and look into a few players that can be traded later on Dalton, Bronny, Adou, Van, Hardy. We do need to drop a player

projected starting unit. Austin, Grimes, Laravia, Luka, Walker. Can Kuminga come in and trump Laravia? I think so. Thing is he has been mostly a reserve to date. Him holding out is concerning and why the Hawks did not lock him up.

There are reports from the Bay Area and various publications that cover the warriors that Kuminga turned down a 5 year 150m contract with Golden State in 2024, potentially due to it not being fully guaranteed.

Since then theyve been trying to recoup back to that number. So I assume they’re just happy to wait if anything better happens otherwise they’ll choose between 45m guaranteed or a sub 10m dollar one year prove it deal.

    It is what it is.

I was about to say the same thing. Mamu is the small ball Center.

if he's taking the minimum, us or minny are probably equally enticing, basketball wise, but we have the bigger spotlight, so he should come here. i just don't think he's planning on taking the minimum.

again, he's waiting to see if that 20m prospect materializes after the RFA dust settles. some of the same teams chasing watson would pivot to kuminga with similar assets, imo--and that's clearly what his agent is hoping for.

not a whole lot to lose at this point while waiting, either.

What's crazier to me is that all Kawhi has to do is plant a single tree anywhere in California including his own yard and this all never happens. The latest scandal is even worse because they could have just ran an ad of him with the scoreboard or whatever in the background in a couple of magazines that they also own and / or have relationships with.

And ultimately, that's why I think the league has to hammer them. The bar for performance on one of these contracts is insanely low and they didn't even meet that.

Bright lights of LA and the pressure of being a Laker has wilted way tougher personalities IMO. We will see but I do have concerns if we end up with him.

What would be the incentive of that company though. Guess it could be some ex employee blowing that whistle. Or current anonymously. Probably huge Lakers fan.

I think even if Kawhi did nothing for the companies, they have to announce that they have hired him as a spokesperson like they did with previous Aspirations spokespersons. That neither company did is a huge red flag. The only way they don’t IMO is that star gets into legal trouble after the agreement is signed but the announcement has not been made yet.

This angle is something Pablo has been looking into since the beginning of his investigation. It was supposedly talked about by people during the building of the Intuit dome. He has since had a Clipper employee (can’t remember if they are a current or former) tell him it’s true. Along with the different financial records from the company and the fact it wasn’t announced, Kawhi did no work and the company was heading for a likely bankruptcy without the Clippers building the halo scoreboard. I think Ballmer was able to pressure the company into doing them into a Kawhi deal. It seems to be a pattern on Ballmer’s part. Money talks and he’s got loads of it.

Edit:according to the scoreboards PR fixer company Wachtell is looking into this for the NBA. So they are aware of it.

From all the Kuminga/Lakers articles I have read, and there are 1/2 dozen new ones everyday, the Lakers have the most $$ to offer him. The other "suitors", Cleveland, Minnesota, and Sacramento don't have anything but minimum to offer. I suppose the Clippers could offer him more but the have their own financial issues with Leonard & Mctherin. The longer this takes, the Lakers will eventually give up and go another direction and I hope they do. It very well could be Kuminga is getting bad advice, but then he has to be smart enough to realize that. He would be 26 after the 3 year contract offer by the Lakers runs out. If he is as good as he thinks he is, he will have no problem getting a bigger, longer contract then.

I don't think Kuminga is worth this much trouble, what kind of problems will his agent and he cause for the Lakers if they do sign him? I would be much happier if we moved on, made trades for Saddig Bey and Jericho Sims, and be done with this. That would make for a very solid team that will challenge the Spurs and Thunder for the top spot in the West. If not Bey, then strike a deal for Kyle Kuzma and Sims. A bridge year from Kuzma would be successful and we could look again in 2027. Or just maybe the answer is on the team already in Ziare Williams, Adour Thiero, or Cameron Carr. The outlook has completely reversed course since last season for the Lakers. I love the direction we are going.
