I know. ;) That’s why for you it’s so great you have all those OTHER things that “could” not work out well to worry about. And undoubtedly remind everyone about even if we are looking good and winning and near the top of the West during the season ….. because “it’s not the playoffs.”

Good read. It ultimately points to the reason I'm higher on the offseason than some are and that's that the changes to our overall approach to team building are there. I'm not going to call it miraculous yet (need to see how we actually look on the floor), but I think by the end of the season we're going to see a better team than many think.

There are things they have to work on. lol. Its not like they were in the finals last year and established. Its a brand new team. So all i am saying is for fans to be patient. Its also possible they could be the best team in the West. The difference is a returning team knows its players and rotations, We still have that to figure out.

I don’t know …. you seem unqualified to do that when you WILL be reminding everyone during the season that it is not the playoffs. Book it. ;)

Regular season tells you about your teams. The playoffs pushes a you to a different level which is different than regular season. ex Lakers had a shot to win the title if healthy however the concern would not have been health it would have been the speed and physical nature of the playoffs. That would have been the concern. Not Luka and Austin being injured.

Dang bro..why does everyone have to be on the same page, and see things the same way? It doesn't work like that in real life, why should Lakers Fandom be that way? This isn't the optimism thread.

Things almost never turn out to be as great as hoped, or as bad as predicted, it's always somewhere in the middle.

Then you have those special seasons that produce a Championship, but those are rare and should be celebrated and cherished.

With all the constant Kuminga talk, I forget we signed Thybulle and Williams. If they can play a full season and the playoffs, the defensive wing situation is better. I'd rather just sign another big and play Vando and Thiero, but that's probably not going to happen.

Thank you too for explaining all that. Seriously? This started simply enough.

Not hostile, just pointing out the flip side to what he said short and sweet. The rest was in response to his belaboring all his old and some new worry points, and playoffs this and playoffs that. I KNOW You agree with the sentiment, just watch the games and enjoy that we are going to have a very good team and let's see what happens. Health willing. Same as last year. Except health wasn't willing. I don't want to listen all season to "but AR and Luka haven't proved anything in the playoffs, and they're different" (no s***?) ..... all season. He's preaching patience and if he follows his own advice .... no problem. I'm not the guy here saying we are going to be in the top 2 in the West and win a ring. We have a very good team on paper.

Oh nah..I'm not trying to interject into you and Pops back and forth...you guys squabbling predates me around here.

I was referring to the fact that, most of our dust ups, seem to revolve around Slick not getting with the program. "Top 3 in the West as currently constructed "?

I've been saying for years that the Lakers should do this. But many on this board have been advocating to keep players such as AD, Rui,etc. and to aquire players such as Sabonis, DDR, Poertl, etc. I'ts really not rocket science that they are doing this, even though they do have a rocket scientist now. Imagine if we did something stupid like go get AD a center? You can't have spacing that way. An players who like to chuck long two-pointers like AD are not ideal either. As are bigs who don't dunk the ball or protect the rim, like Sabonis.

With health, especially Luka, that certainly seems possible
