yep, with Kobe, I think we were happy to just go down with the ship. He earned it and never a mercenary. Lebron was fine but he never really endeared himself to the Lakers fans and he was a mercenary to boot. I don't hate him as much as many around here but I already don't miss him.

It makes sense for him. Jaylin Brown. Maxey edgecomb. But they don’t play great defense. Edgecomb and Maxey aren’t that much better defensively than Luka and Reaves. I mean Maxey got handled and owned by Brunson. How does that team beat the Knicks?

I see wholes. Embiid is great but he’s not playing a whole season. He makes Anthony Davis look like Cal Ripken. But just defensively Embiid is not that player anymore. Lebron and Embiid. They are going to have so much problem. Trouble at the Rim.

it’s all Jaylon or bust. He’s awesome defensively but he’s not Scottie Pippen.

they’ll score but they are going to give up a lot of points. He wants a championship bad!!!!!!!!!!!

    Philly Lebron really???????? Philly??????????

You got some challenges ahead of you defensively. Gianiss Bam Tatum George Thompson Duran OG Towns Bridges

Savannah is not going to Philly I know his daughter isn’t. This is a LeBron move. And it’s pretty selfish.

was the beef with the Lakers that much??? That you go across country to Philly??????? For 8 million????

he should’ve went back to L.A. the best deal was with the Lakers. Philly’s being desperate. But hey it’s Philly. This smells of Chris Webber and Allen Iverson Paul George and Joel Embiid.

the ownership group of Harris’s is so desperate.

but hey at least he didn’t go to the Warriors.

I see 9 out of each 10 forum members here (probably even more), blaming Lebron and not Rob though.

even with the Westbrook debacle most people blamed Lebron's interference and not Rob.

Interesting decision by Lebron, I actually respect it more than if he were to go to Miami or Cleveland. Feels like an earnest basketball decision without being as ring chasey as if he went to the Spurs or OKC. I thought the basketball fit with Miami or Cleveland would have been much clunkier.

Philly gotta put Embiid in bubble wrap until the playoffs if they want a chance though.

Hoping we start to see more movement on other free agents now. Someone else mentioned it but I do wonder if some of the delay is optics with some teams/players not wanting it to be super transparent that they were waiting on Lebron. Could also be that the Philly choice surprised many FO’s so the contingency plans need a little more reevaluation.

On the Kuminga front, I still don’t think Cleveland has a very easy pathway to him but we’ll see how it plays out.

No don’t spin this to winning 4 championships with 4 different teams.

He’s not Jordan. And I think it’s mindset. He’s not Kobe. He always had to go to a staked team.

Miami Cleveland us with AD. I think the championship with AD is probably arguably the best. Beat Jokic but besides that the point is he always went to a team that stacked with other stars.

id give him credit if he won and beat Kobe in 09 when they got bounced by Orlando and Dwight.

he’s a phenomenal player. But he’s not the best. This just proves it. Trying to find a stacked team.

what I don’t get is how does the media give him credit for this. But if Jordan would’ve played for us in 02 with Kobe and Shaq we would say it’s bad for his legacy. What’s the difference???

These teams never win anyway. And they’ll be off-season champions. But still no rings.

It’s a fun narrative. But can you honestly sit here and say Joel Embiid at 33 is a better defensive option at Center than Walker Kessler at 24??????? Lebron Pelinka Lakers were smart to keep the NBA business going and getting our players. And thanks Lebron for not saying the Lakers have a shot. Cause at least we weren’t held hostage.

and Bronnys staying with us on the Lakers.

Lebron wanted Cleveland to trade for Kyrie who was being shipped out Mobley??? They certainly weren’t taking Harden.

    LOL!! abeer says THIS

    OX says THIS

Nice logic and connection there. Why don't you stick to your one liners hating on Jeanie, Pelinka, Bronny and many things in general, when you do decide to show up, instead of what steps to take and how YOU would actually build the team. Like the genius offering the other day with zero details on what we were supposed to do THIS summer .... that Jokic was the answer to our next ring.

Fischer said the other day the Cavs can offer him more than the MLE, not sure how, but that’s more than we’re reportedly offering, and it wouldn’t take Atlanta wanting anything because they wouldn’t have to be involved

similar path to ours, but harden has to take a pretty big cut. keep waiting to hear that number, and we don't have it.

they're 25 below the first apron with him unsigned. but they have two 15-ish expirings in schroder and strus. schroder to charlotte, strus to the clips (they have a TE that fits him) in a 3-way creates a 30m TE. if they re-sign harden for 30 (that's been my expectation), they could pay kuminga the 25 he got opted out on this year.

now...do i think that's worth it for cleveland? i'm not sure. everyone knows i don't think schroder is a winning nba player, so who cares on that one. but strus has been useful to them.

anyway, i think their path is slightly easier than ours because strus and schroder are more valuable players than knecht and laravia, and kuminga's salary could be higher than it would be here.

of course, that's assuming my knecht/laravia 4-teamer is even something we'd do or could do.

i'm not sure what we're offering. as svtzr and i were discussing before, that 10 per figure seems like the number we could clear under the cap before executing signings, etc. i haven't heard what we're offering yet. we'll hear it after he lands in cleveland, i'm sure.

but i outlined above how they can get over the mle to offer, but it would require atlanta's involvement unless they totally screw harden.

    I don’t “hate” him.
I just really dislike him because of his Jupiter sized ego, calling himself “The Goat,” having to jump from team to team, Always needing to be in the spotlight, strong arming our FO through Klutch, being one of the worst all time Floppers in the NBA, not having any accountability, AND expecting the Kobe Treatment when he ain’t even loved half the amount we loved some of our non Chip players like Eddie and Nick tha Quick.
Good basketball player, terrible human being.
If I would believe in “the GOAT” convo(which I don’t), he would be fourth behind
    Jordan
    Kobe
    Kareem
I thank the Lord he is no longer on my team.

    100% this

And after the way the Lakers bent to his wishes and whims

This is why people don't like him

Treat us terrible and demand big salaries, yet go to another team and basically come in for nothing

Truthfully, IF......because there is still A LOT of IFs here........IF he wins Philly a Title in the next two years......then I will give him a gold star for getting Philly a title in such a long time. He doesn't get credit for winning with 4 teams, though I guess that's cool, but like Horry and others did similar things so like.....meh. Also, this doesn't help his GOAT case. He can be one of the Greatest to play the game of Basketball, but again.....I feel like MJ and Kobe deserve WAY MORE CREDIT for the discussion than LeBron.

At the end of the day though, we have to respect his decisions. Not like them, but respect them and if he wins, then Philly will respect him a lot and I am okay with that too.

Just, people trying to say he deserves this accolade or that thing if he does it....I feel like the Cart is being put before the Horse in this situation.

    That's just me.

I am annoyed he left, but was ready. I am annoyed with how he handled it, but it's done. So, let's root for Luka and the new squad and see how things go.

People say it won't be that hard for him....I see some decent competition in the EAST this year that I think will make it a little harder now than maybe the last couple of seasons. Sure, LeBron still CAN have an easy time, but I don't know if it's as easy as WE think.

    We shall see.

Definitely think this points to a need for a player relationship guy on the staff.

I'm just not sure how much that would have helped here because if JJ couldn't convince him to stay then I'm not sure who could.

I don't know. Maybe I am being anti-LeBron but I don't see it. 2 guys in him and Brown who didn't like being in the second or third role on a team joining forces to be potentially the 3rd and 4th options on a new team. Guess we will see.
