I really believe the FO is weighting what's the best thing to do. They seem to be clearly aiming to have the full MLE next summer. And we'll have another swap and 2nd (2034) to trade in the summer.

Plus, we will only have the MLE and BAE and we may want to re-sign Jake and/or Ziaire. We can lose Sexton for nothing too. So it's important to have some options available. We won't have Ziaire bird rights, so if we like him he will eat one of the exceptions. Not sure about Jake but he may eat an exception too.

That's why I think they want to get Kuminga with a contract it makes sense to 1) keep the MLE available AND 2) make sure we're able to control his contract for multiple years.
It's stupid to lose assets for him to have a good season here and then go away in the summer because we are unable to re-sign him.

I like seeing the FO looking at all aspects and understand the ramifications of today's decisions in tomorrow's flexibility.

Agree too. I think we'll pretty much need to make a decision next year between Jake or Ziaire. Maybe we do it already.

I do agree that Vando can become a better trade asset. But also agree with sk's next comment, where Jake will have some importance in this year's team.

I'm pretty confident Grimes and Kessler will be locks on the starting 5 of an LA championship team. Maybe Grimes becomes a 6th man at some point but I see a world where we can win with him as the starting 3. Then we also added Mamu as a solid bench player and have Carr and Thiero developing behind.

With that in mind, we need a starting 4 and a couple more good bench players in the next couple years to have a championship team. If we can't get one this summer that we can be sure he'll be here for the long-term, I rather wait.

Doesn't mean we're punting the year, it just means we're pragmatic and start developing chemistry with the players we have and maximize our chances to contend in the near future.

 

Does ANYONE know what LeBron is thinking? "He is down to two teams, Cleveland and Golden State" and now it's "He's been talking to Cleveland, Minnesota, and Philadelphia..." Like, the news MUST be trying to keep the NBA relevant right now amidst everything else or something, because that is a WHOLE LOT OF NOTHING in a box.

 

I'm pretty sure he already decided and this is all about the documentary. Probably just creating content for it and maybe negotiating the image rights and all of that. Probably will have a Decision 2.0 too

Also saw a multi-team trade idea that would get Kyrie in Cleveland. Harden would be out. It's not crazy, I can see it

I swear if Kyrie does go to Cleveland AND Love goes back to Cleveland, I may get a little annoyed. Sure, it would be rad, but like.......LeBron........BUDDY...............this is not how things work my dude.

If Draymond goes to Cleveland, that would be the funniest thing ever.

I really think at this rate though, Harden deserves to be a part of whatever Team LeBron makes IF he is going to Cleveland. Just let the dude get a ring already. Westbrook SHOULD have gotten involved with a team to win a ring by now, but he's been dealt a BAD HAND since Durant left.

I love how he leaves LA though, and yet this Documentary is the most important thing ever.....ALSO.....another reason why I am happy he opted to move on. Would have been fun, but like also.......at least we know that our players aren't just GONNA CHOOSE TO NOT PLAY back to back games for.......reasons....................


LeBron deserves all the credit to his name, for his time here......just this whole shtick was getting old man.....glad we all ripped the band-aid off and moved on. Things will no longer feel like an intentional spectacle around here.

Well, since he thinks he is not only the best thing to hit the court, but is also the greatest GM ever.......I completely understand the pettiness and why everything is a song and dance nowadays.

It will forever be my favorite that he can be that good, but can't even have 5 titles to his name. I hated when everyone just said the 2020 ring is a Bubble Ring, though I get it, because it really felt like everyone played their hearts out to finish the season and win it and what not, but I will admit that all the memes about the other reason for each rings, feels extra valid right now........

This is getting ridiculous. So why do we care what company pitches they were doing for a spokesperson. Give the penalty’s. But this seems like company that didn’t know how to use their pitchman.

 

It's hard to believe we'll play the season with a Wing rotation of Ziaire/Jake/Vando.

I hope this doesn't turn into another season of trying to get a DFS-type for 2nds at the trade deadline and hoping the team gels right before the playoffs. (if we actually get there with this team which I have my doubts)

 

Our wing rotation is Grimes/Mamu/Jake/Ziaire right now. With Vando, Adou and eventually Carr able to play some minutes too at the 3/4

 

I thought you just didn't like how Rob made the deals .... how much paid, POs etc. Now you're saying you have doubts we even make the playoffs? What exactly was your version of whom he should have signed instead that was "doable"?

Cam is going to get major wing minutes pretty quick. The guy is exactly what we need and too good to be denied. We will have a heated competition and may the best man win. Whoever it is, we will be stacked with back ups. With any kind of patience at all, Adou is going to be kicking butt at the four as well. We are only as limited as our coaches minds allow us to be.
