    He's right about Kobe, unfortunately. As for our team, the coach's job is to maximize the talent they have on the roster and put the team in the best position possible to succeed. If we think Byron is doing that based on what he ran last year and what we saw in Summer League, we're deluding ourselves.

    lol, i thought i might have been generous in my kobe assessment. i'm a huge kobe fan, but i'm also a sighted individual.

    as for byron, i just don't know how to assess his performance. does he not get some credit for developing clarkson appropriately? using tarik black effectively?

    3rd Tier? That's way too low. Any second that Kobe is healthy is a stud in this league.

    Whenever he's on the floor he's capable of carrying the team. If you want to put him that low because he's likely to get hurt again, that's fine, but as a player he's still among the best in this league.

    Sure, he gets credit for developing Clarkson. He'll also do a good job developing Russell. He has a track record of being able to develop young guards very well. Sure, I'll give him credit for developing Tarik too, I guess.

    OK. If that's what you are disagreeing with me on, then I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I do think the analytics guys do know basketball enough to give Byron some actionable intelligence that doesn't need a translator. Obviously not all the info is relevant, but Byron used next to nothing from them. Byron admits to not looking at it. I mean, I'm still not sure we are in disagreement here. :D You said, "I'm not saying analytics guys don't know any basketball." Which is exactly what I was calling BS on. I was saying they do know. :D

    I suppose our disagreement is the extent of Byron’s stupidity and how much or little the analytic guys know about basketball? ;)
