Still a small ball type of forward because he's capable of playing both positions. Reminds me kind of like Jeff Green-ish.

Doubt they outright cut either of those 2. Sacre especially with questions around Upshaw. But for Kelly (I would think) his last chance to stick with the club. Come into camp, stay healthy, and finally deliver on teased shooting and other skills he's displayed but never consistently. Beat out this or any other challenges for his roster spot. Likely unlikely but would not mind being proven wrong.

Would be pretty funny if he ends up being Mitch's steal from this draft. The C-Bags letting him go would make it that much sweeter.

As Holmes explained Sunday after a 15-point, 10-rebound performance against Philadelphia, "I just know they have the best coaching staff, and I feel like I have a good opportunity to play here and show what I can do. It seems to be a pretty good choice so far.

"Just Brad Stevens and his staff -- he's one of the best coaches coming up right now. So they all really know the game really well, and they help explain it to us and break it down to us in a way we can understand it. It's been a lot of fun."

Over two games in Las Vegas, Holmes has been one of Boston's most consistent contributors, averaging 15 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Flashing a lot of pick-and-pop potential, he has been solid at both ends of the court, taking advantage of a different role than he played in college.

"I feel like last year I was kind of forced to play the 3," he said, "because we had a lot of 4s, guys that were good. So I feel like I can do both, but I feel pretty comfortable about the 4."

C Bags coach Brad Stevens is impressed with what he's seen, particularly with Holmes' outside shot (he's made four of six attempts so far in Las Vegas). Here's what he told the Boston Herald:

“He’s got a really good chance, to be a good player. He stretches the floor as a 4, he’s got a little post game, he’s better rebounding the ball than even I knew when he got here, he can get offensive rebounds, he can get defensive rebounds, he’s strong, he can guard bigger, he’s got a really good chance.”

For a SF he seems long and thick.

    How's that?

Glad to see the Lakers continuing to take chances on young guys. Makes a lot of sense to keep searching for that diamond in the rough.

Could be a cheaper and even better Kelly replacement. I like the looks of those corner threes for the wins.

Wait until Holmes starts lurking on LB and finds out what the software does to the C Bags' name. [IMG]

They have too many mediocre players already with no franchise player potential.

First time I've seen the loyalty stat and the rating on their best move.

I'm not sure whether to give you mad props or to report this to Barns. :giggle:

That's a pretty dominant best move though.
