Al Davis would have taken a flyer on him BUT at the time he had veteran players that would have straightened him out. Then again, I knew of no player on his teams with a rap sheet that Smith has put together.
Positive, well written thoughts about The Silver and Black courtesy of SI... A rarity! http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2015/08/03/oakland-raiders-wide-receivers-amari-cooper-michael-crabtree
Watched Brown's Hall of Fame speech today... Off the cuff somewhat and went a wee bit long but congrats to Mr. Raider. The first Heisman wide-out to make it to The Hall.
So Musgrave will implement Chip Kelly influences on offense? Wide open spacing, one back, three receiver sets... Quick reads to save Carr from hits. Murray, Cooper, Crabtree, Streater [?], Walford or Rivera... O-Line seems to be set. Watson, Jackson, Penn, Hudson, Webb, Howard... No excuses now. Concerns? The secondary...particularly at the safety spots. Woodson will hold up. Can Allen be more than adequate? Corners seem to be OK. Oh and Jano has to regain his form. Heard last night that in three weeks, Raiders will be on Sunday Night Football preseason? Unheard of a prime time spotlight given the last four seasons of futility. Let's rep!
Streamer on third team? Wow. They must be impressed with Thompkins. He's talented but an underachiever.
^^Clicked on the chart... Streater's not even on it. He's on the PUP list but team's positive he should be available by opening weekend. I would like to see Butler at the slot. Holmes does have talent but maddeningly inconsistent. I see they have Smith as the starting TE. I don't mind that at all to free Murray for the running game.
Oh yeah! That was Butler. Yeah we now have a collection of interesting talent we can play around with.
and here's the schedule http://www.raiders.com/schedule/sea...70004943029992&adbpl=fb&adbpr=117307284966434
Read that Davis Ausberry, who was with the Lions (I think), will be shut down for the season again. His career might be over. Shame; he never really got it going.
Ben Heeney has three solo tackles and a sack in the first half. Shelby Harris also picked up a sack. Thanks to two INTs, the Raiders haven't punted. It should be noted that one INT was in the end zone and the other basically ended the half, so Oakland has been moving the ball.
McGloin started the second half with a dominant drive: 5/6 passing, 55 yards, and Tavecchio missed a FG.
