I'm fine burning a first to guarantee we get the guy. Worst case scenario is we tie up our space, DET/JAZZ match and FA is over. We're left with money to throw at random 3rd stringers on one year deals just to hit the salary floor and waste Luka in his prime.

We're going to have to overpay, period. It's RFA. There's a reason teams never lose their guy to RFA. But Rob has his binder and his master plan and has been planning for this moment for years...so he should know exactly how to maneuver this situation that couldn't possibly have caught him by surprise, right?

Goga didn't get much time at Orlando and he could get plenty of time here especially since LeBron and probably Rui too are both gone

 

Mamu is another player that outperformed Rui in every counting stat and advanced metric last season.

 

Oubre is the most similar player to Kuzma out there in the league, but worse. I will not be able to handle the high usage along with the the dumb shot selection from Oubre.

Would love to get him in a sign and trade that still gives you additional cap space to spend beyond just Grimes and Mamu
