Oh I was referring to C's since the debate started over Upshaw blocking shots. As a C that is a defensive anchor, your job is to control the paint. But you're still correct, it doesn't come down to just FG% at the rim. Teams want as many shots near the rim as possible because they're the highest % shots. Flat out preventing them from taking some high % shots due to good defense and intimidation also plays a huge part. I hope the Upshaw situation rights itself, but either way it's exciting to know we have Hibbert to make teams think twice before even trying to get into the lane.

I don't know; it was posted on 8/5, but I'm not sure what they're up to right now.

Yah It would be nice to know if that interview (have not read yet) was before or after they caught Bob "shooting up" in his hotel room in Vegas. ;)

Now that I've seen the interview, we have to include the possibility that his behavioral problem in Vegas was being found gorging himself on junk food and "candy". Lakers don't want another Odom on their hands.

Was just starting to read the new, long article on Roy Hibbert in his thread currently and was scanning down it to see how long. It's loooong, and have not read yet. But this paragraph jumped out at me. The name of Metta World Panda's psychologist. Bob seriously should check her out as well as schedule some time with Ron Ron.

Ron Artest walked into his postgame news conference after Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals at Staples Center, where his Lakers had beaten the rival Boston C Bags, with someone special to immediately thank: his sports psychologist, Santhi Periasamy.

@LTLakerFan was thinking the same. Maybe we can get a 2 for 1 special or at least get Ron a referral discount (he's all about discounts dating back to his circuit city days). If we keep Upshaw, I actually would prefer to have her on staff for the year (not that she'd be interested), but with Roy, Upshaw, and the three youngsters...it'd certainly help. And then when Kobe yells at one of them, they can go to her office and have a good cry. :D

Not a good sign if he couldn't even get passed summer league without showing some negative signs off the court.

We just signed another SF/PF Jonathan Holmes. What's up with Upshaw? Is his issue that much of a deterrent to teams?

Yep. A kid struggling with addiction apparently couldn't make it out of one summer without some sort of issue. That's about as bad of a sign as you can get.

As usual, the Front Office is doing an incredible job of not letting any details come out. I usually love it when it applies to trades or signings that go down without the media ever catching wind, but in this instance I'd really love to know the details of what happened. I don't know if I should forget about Upshaw or keep holding out hope that we sign him.

I honestly don't need to know what it is. I trust the FO and I don't trust Upshaw. If he did something, anything, to jeopardize his chances in the NBA then he doesn't belong here. I'm not going to pass judgement because I don't know what he did, but I also don't want him on the team if he can't keep his nose clean for just two weeks. What will he do in the NBA with temptation everywhere he looks?

I don't trust authority, so I'll keep rooting for him. And shame on LA for not getting him more support.
