For all the folks happy he's gone, I get wanting to turn the page but this pretty much guarantees we are not a contender next season. The only real path was adding legit pieces and then bringing back LeBron. Maybe that's fine, but it should be acknowledged. Unless we swing a trade for another Top 40 guy.

He waits this long so we lose out on a lot of deals

Kind of spiteful in my eyes...

basically has to. that's annoyed me the whole time for a guy who was all about his money for his entire tenure here, he takes a paycut only to leave. see ya.

Timing was perfect, now the Lakers can bounce Bronny so I can stop hearing the delusionals about how he just needs more time to get better.

Well, if the Lakers really have plans with calls to agents to "replace" LeBron......I guess we start seeing what that is all about.

What is our cap ACTUALLY at now? We might be able to sign quite a few people. We won't make up his difference, but I feel like we can still make the playoffs if we add the right people.

Whoever is making this call, Rob, Mark, LUKA (somehow), or just LeBron himself......I will say.....it's ballsy.

Thanks LeBron and peace out. This is for the best. May not be better next year, but we can finally lay the foundation for Luka.

He actually helped telling them now. Signing aren't allowed until later this evening.

He was going to leave at some point. Had to rip the bandaid off; this is WHY you don't overpay Reaves, but that's another issue for another time.

Right now, we work with what we have and make the best of it. How it f***** goes.

    LFG!!!

Exactly. It opens up the cap space route.

    100% this

    Dirty move IMO

Won't take less from us to help build the roster around him, but turns around and rewards another team

    We'll see

For being his age he put it all on the floor when he played

    Looking forward to those plans

Could the Lakers sign-and-trade him like Cleveland did with him going to Miami? Can we get SOMETHING out of this?

It was already open, he was renounced.

    This changes nothing in practice.
Only good thing is we know it already and can solely focus on all the other deals.

Most of the contracts have already been agreed too. They're just waiting to be communicated

it's been open since last year, imo. people got excited bc of the end of season run and the houston series, but neither lebron nor rob changed their mind about anything.
