I think some will, like former rivals, but I think that number goes way up because of Rob, him being rumored to be a ruthless agent and not having many good relationships around the league. I just genuinely think it’s time for a fresh start, not just Rob, the whole FO.

I do find it interesting that a few hit pieces aimed at Rob have come out just recently. Not sure why, but the timing when FA is about to start and trade winds are blowing is probably not coincidental.

possibly. i've wanted us to sign someone with better relationships across the league, but maybe the oddity of pairing with rob means that can't happen.

again, i think he's set up for a boom or bust here in the next few days. if he pulls whatever his grand plan is here, i think he not only keeps his job but is maybe extended. anything short of that, and he's gone.

convenient, too, as the organization can pin the lebron divorce on rob so the bitterness doesn't carry forward to future attempts to lure stars.

i think that's another underrated factor in not being able to hire in the front office: who wants to be part of the team managing the lebron retirement or angry exit? so hard to do.

i think he's angered lebron, and he's angered rui's agent. pretty sure he's made mortal enemies in detroit, too, as they're going to have to max duren to keep him now. ironically, i think this is another case of your greatest strength being your greatest weakness. rob has enemies because he's a bit of a shark, and he's also successful because he's a bit of a shark.

But raise your hand if you DIDN'T know that?

Again, CHRIS PAUL w/Kobe and Cap for Dwight.........

Yeah.........they want to stick it to us ALWAYS. C Bags can be good whenever they want and everyone loves it. The Lakers have chances to get good and the league does all it can to crush it.

    1. Low-ball Reaves with your initial offer, causing him to see what he could get from other teams.

    2. Reaves’ agent goes to the Pistons, who indicate they’d offer him his max. Reaves’ agent tells Rob the Pistons will max him out.

    3. Leak that the Pistons were willing to max out Reaves, causing Duren to ask for the same.

Rob out here playing 4D chess!

i posted something similar a couple days ago, only not quite kidding. when a team showed interest in our guy, we just swallowed the pill and signed him. now, their situation is different because of the supermax and the RFA status (each working in different directions), but the principle is the same, imo--you came after our guy, and we got it sorted. we're coming after your guy now. can you get it sorted?

Looking like the answer will be a “no,” unless Sabonis really learns how to be a much better post defender.

Well, we are signing a bunch of people to bolster the front office. To be honest, getting rid of the "whole FO" (if speaking about the previous one, and not the guys they've hired in the last couple months) is basically letting go of like 2 to 3 people. That's how small and antiquated our setup was.

I mean I guess, we still haven’t hired the assistant GM they said we were going to. Rob likes to subtract people, not add
