Great news. I never got that scheduling. Great for fans, but horrible for athletes. As some of the biggest fans in the world, I'd think we are all in favor of this. I don't need the Lakers 4 times in 5 nights if it means my guys being hurt or fatigued.
@therealdeal yeah, I don't know about the average Joe but I want to see the best possible product on the floor. You know TNT/ESPN/ABC want the same for ratings. With players resting more now, if it's the 3rd or 4th game in that stretch then it's very likely the very reason people would have interest in that game won't be suiting up and that's bad for their sponsors and will result in weaker ratings.
Yeah I'm not sure who came up with that idea in scheduling, but it sucked. We had multiple 4-in-5s last year didn't we?
Thats my plan too, hoping we can manage his minutes and allow him to actually play the entire seasons.
the last game of the season better be at home and not across the country or anything. Like you and many others I'm going to be making every attempt to be there.
last? judging by the last few years, it might be a better idea to go to the first home game...who knows how long he'll hold up
Hopefully by then our team will be more confident (talking about the young guys) and efficient. That Match up can be very entertaining! Imagine RUSSELL vs CP2 CLARKSON vs REDICK KOBE vs PIERCE RANDLE vs BLAKE HIBBERT vs DJ on paper that looks like a game I will not miss! I might buy tickets to that one!
I don't see us hitting a groove until around the all star break. This could be another snoozer but hopefully a healthy Kobe and Hibbert's impact on the defensive end will at least keep this from being another blow out.
That looks like we're gonna get wrecked. If you throw in Bass/Williams/Black though I think it gets a little more interesting.
Even when we're on the downside as a franchise, they still schedule us on Christmas. What does that tell you about the Lakers being "irrelevant" now. Yeah right.
Yeah we're talking seasoned talented veterans vs up and coming rookies with an aged Bryant and Hibbert for that Christmas game. On paper that looks like an exciting match up and I'm sure it will be, but realistically, Clippers have the upper hand as far as talent and experience and it's not even close. We can hope our boys can keep it competitive though.
No more 4 games in 5 nights is great news for Kobe, but maybe not the overall team. Our core is mostly all young guys who would probably benefit from playing against tired older guys more often. On the bright side, more practice time.
