Duren would be awesome, at least for this season, try to keep Lebron and throw everything at it, for the next season we get the cap hit from Reaves salary so we'll probably have to move some players.

out of my curiosity, would you guys have done a Reaves for Duren trade? that probably would've been the easier way to get Duren.

Very tempting from a roster balance perspective

So the Nets are just going to be a pain in the a**. I really hope we sign Mitchell Robinson.

It’s so funny OKC just refuses to trade with us.

LeBrons not going anywhere. Luka Reaves and Lebron were actually playing great basketball together before Luka got hurt and Lebron bought in.

I get what you’re saying about the way the team looked at the beginning of the season. But if we want to win a championship we’re gonna need Lebron on those 4th quarter plays.

I hope you're right. We need to throw the kitchen sink at it next year.

If we can keep Bron, upgrade the center position, get a 3&D wing and resign the rest (I'm probably okay with sacrificing Kennard if we have to), we are in business

after next year, we get the cap hit from Austin's contract and Bron probably retires. That is going to make it much harder.

never got to see them in the playoffs. I think that was last season now you move on to next season and after. Lebron situation is distracting.

i think it's funny that underperformance in the playoffs is often cited as the reason to fire reaves directly into the sun, but we would want to trade him for a guy who got benched in the playoffs and will make 20% more. i say this as someone who advocates trading for duren, but man, that grass over there sure is green.

Unless they get Duren for like 40m per along with additional picks from Detroit.

And then they’ve offloaded Brown’s contract, saved cap space, got a starting center, two massive TPE’s. They could be the team that OKC dumps Dort too or that Denver dumps Can Johnson too. I wouldn’t put it past them to completely retool this summer.

Duren is 22 years old, all Nba and all star already.

Not doing that trade would be a fireable offense

I wouldn’t trade Reaves for Duren. That guy cratered in the playoffs. His points dropped from 20 to 10, rebounds dropped 20% and FG dropped by 15%. He played soft and scared.

We can excuse it, but there is a reason why Detroit don’t want to give him 50m per. Paul Reed was playing over him (and Isaiah Stewart to be fair too).

For Boston, it can kind of make sense.

Have to give it up to OKC, Presti is just showing why he is at the top of the food chain.

He came in with 249m of salary plus another 10m in incoming draft picks and likely 17 players rostered.

They dump Andrew Wiggins and Isaiah Joe (combined 20m salary) for 4 second round picks.

This lowers them to about 239m in salary. I assume they decline Kenrich’s option if they can’t land a second for him in a dump. That puts them at 232m and only 10m away from being under the 2nd apron.

Guess who has team options? Dort and Hart. And both guys are happy to sign for less for more years. They can bring back Dort at 4 years - 54m (starting wage 12m) and Hart for 4 years x 100m (starting wage 22m). Both players would get a TO in year 4 and become much more tradable in following years. I’m almost sure they’ll have to get rid of both guys in future years but they’ll get firsts for them instead of having to pay to get off them.

OKC goes into the season with 219m a small tax bill relative to what they were going to have and a team of:

    SGA / McCain / Topic
    JDubb / Ajay / Stritz
    Dort / Wallace / Caruso
    Chet / JWill
    IHart / Mara / Sorber

Just embarrassing the rest of the league with their wheeling and dealing.

Next year they can look to trade JDubb or Chet and bring back a haul of picks for either. Or a dump of IHart and Dort if their replacements are ready.

Trade idea: I originally wanted to get Isaiah Joe and Sorber. I wonder if there is anything we could do to just pick up Sorber now that they got Mara? He looks like a great prospect…

Right the playoffs weren't that young man's finest effort. Not quite a Tinkerbell level fall off, but it was significant.
