You should have done the work and checked the stats deeper.

He had 14 shots in the playoff, he went 1/11 from 3 over 4 games. It happens, that’s the smallest sample size ever and means nothing. In the regular season he has been for 36% from 3 for 4 years.

We had this discussion before and data shows comparing Herb to Vando is absurd. I'm not going to do the analysis again, but cmon man, you're not being serious.

Plus, I really think you overestimate what guys do in bad teams. That's a big mistake, imo. Just put yourself in their shoes. They play with worse players, are always losing, locker room vibes are off, any small injury they get sat because why bother playing, etc etc

I'm pretty sure if Herb came he would be a fan favorite like Smart turned out to be after... surprise surprise... sucking for the previous 2 years.

Herb is the exact archetype we need and he is in an amazing contract.

He couldn't get a larger sample size shooting like that.

Why would you want the garbage of Baun?????????

Mitch Robinson and Ayton are fine. They compliment each other. I keep my capital. Give me Ayton Robinson and Hayes and call it a day. Win Win Win Win.

Robinson,Ayton and Hayes works for me. Now make a mid level play for Graves or Eason with one of those FRP.

I’d take Williams instead of Robinson too.

sometimes things are just what they are. Next thing you going to tell me Luka arguing with refs is a misrepresentation. All 3 players you named are in the same box. Why is it their flopping/baiting not the same as SGA? Dont his shots go in to? Did Austin not had a whole full session talking about feeling disrespected by a ref? .... Luka Dončić: Widely considered among the league's biggest complainers, Dončić is notorious for his animated reactions, arms-waving, and dialogue with referees following missed calls, sometimes even lobbying while the opposing team runs a fast break. Get the role players to help hide the flaws just as NY did. It hard telling an alcoholic they have a drinking problem.

I think Bron can play a key role in helping us with a RFA move. Maybe Smart too.
The risk of RFA is that you get your cap space locked until July 8 when the host team needs to decide if they match or not, a time where less FAs are available

So my pitch to Bron and Smart is: look, we're going to make a big offer for Duren/Kessler/Watson. Adding one of them to you both + Luka/AR can give us the best shot at a title. If we get it, Bron signs for whatever left. Smart needs to pick up his PO until June 30 for this and would keep it in this case. Both will get paid next year via bird rights
If we don't get the RFA, both get paid right away via the cap space

They'd get the same money, only difference is if they want a year or not for that if that is important for them

Or its just simply time to move on from LeBron.
Lakers have not made LeBron James an offer yet and communication has been limited. . This is embarrassing on his part. He is not reading the room. Lakers bringing him back looks more like sympathy. The team clearly seems like they are ready to move on without him. Through out the season if he is still there it can get awkward. If things don't work well he will also be the odd man out in better terms punching bag. It seem to me the team has said in so many ways we don't want you back. good response; still don't fully agree, but we'll focus here again:

that's two starters and a 7th man we'd have to get using the mle (most of which probably goes to smart), and the pupu platter of vando/ayton/knecht/2 1sts.

i'm just not seeing it with the way the market's gone. the going rate for 4th/5th starters salary-wise is 20-30m per, so we realistically only have the salary slot to get one, assuming anyone would trade one to us in our (once again) fairly desperate state.

lots of other stuff to catch up on from jsm's dispatches, but the most lol-worthy is 2 1sts for herb jones. man, the pelicans are on some good stuff. they could end up paying to get off him next year.

I don’t think we need to rehash it. But the data comparison wasn’t absurd. Offensively they were the same tier last two years. Defensively Herb’s impact is still at peak Vando levels. But Herb’s contract is also for 15% of the cap for a player that is often injured and is offensively poor. So I think it’s totally fair to not be keen to send 2 first round picks for that.

And yes, I can give Herb the grace of being on a bad team. But no one gives Claxton the same grace either of why his effort on rebounds has waned.

Sorry I know I just replied to this but I didn’t read this the first time… if Herb can’t come back life offensively his contract is like having two Vando’s on the team. It’s 1/7th of the cap…

Hilarious if the Nuggets actually offer Watson close to 30 million and trade both Gordon and Johnson

Roughly thats what Lebron will be getting. 2 years 50mil. At 42 even if his name is Lebron i think that a good number. He Often shouldered the team at the end of the season and into playoffs. With both Davis and Luka. If Lakers want to have postseason success this has to change. Lebron cant out last the younger stars. While it seems like Lakers dont want Lebron back he will be back. The real question is should he want to be back.
