I hope we retain Kennard and Rui. The best shooters in the NBA, something we were praying for, for decades. Actual shooters and the very best in the NBA.

Kennard faced playoff pressure for the first time and didn't thrive. I think he'll get better. So will lineup balance. So will star health hopefully.

Rui was a pleasant surprise. Love to have both of them back.

Damn Minny. It either goes GOOD... or very, very bad. Melo and Ant can be a problem for sure.

Deandre Ayton is valuable because his post game. And offensive game. In the playoffs and sometimes regular season you gotta have a big you can throw the ball down low to and get a bucket. He can do that very well.

We don’t have Jokic we don’t have Towns we don’t have Wemby. But we can argue that Ayton is one of the best at that. Even better than Chet.

JJ has got to have Phil Jackson conversations with him. If he doesn’t get touches he gets disinterested and checks out. That’s a maturity issue. I hope we as a unit make a commitment to team like the Knicks did and commit to a championship. Luka’s gotta get some magic to him and throw the big fella the ball down low so we can keep his effort up.

We gotta ride with what we got. I get Luka’s obsession about the lob threat. Less me more team from everybody. I don’t hear me from Jalen that’s one thing I’ll give him. Lebron did it before Luka got hurt. Aytons gotta do it. I thinking bringing back Hayes helps. But you can’t throw him the ball down low in crunch time. And I don’t think you can with Gafford or Robinson either. I don’t want to trade major draft capital for Gafford.

sign Robinson or Williams. And let’s go with Ayton/Robinson/Williams Hayes. I can ride with 3 Centers who do different things. I think Ayton at a bargain 4 yr. 40 million dollar deal I can do. Line him with Luka and Reaves.

What I’ve seen with the Bigs they don’t grow on trees. And the league puts a premium on Bigs. Facts you just can’t get them. Nobody wants to help us. I wanna go by the Ayton I saw in the playoffs. And I would tell Luka with this Center you had your best season statically in your career.

Cam Carr helps tremendously. Well coach him up as our 3-D our Bridges. The wingspan is incredible. All we want is for him to make that corner 3 when Luka gets doubled. Find your spot and hit it. Give maximum effort on D. And finish at the Rim. Get to the line. And be explosive when going to the rim.

the role is no different then Max Christie and they are similar height. Rob was genius to pull this off. For all the talk about Nate Amat his former teammate he can’t shoot like him. Like Carr.

Reaves. We signed a guy who has unique skillset to win. Can score shooting. Can get to the line. Can score when he wants to. Ability to assist. Trey Young 200 million Austin 185 million. Look what Austin does. Jaylon Brown 300 million now I get Brown. But we are getting a bargain when you look at these contracts.

    Austin does a lot.

and the reason Jaylon Brown is being shopped because he’s due another extension in July. This is a money thing. Boston doesn’t want to pay him. New ownership. So they are trying to trade him. This isn’t a basketball thing.

Be happy we have Mark Walters as an owner.

Luka Reaves Carr Rui Ayton Thiero is a solid foundation.

what I learned about Wemby. You need a big who’s going to go at him. But that Big needs moves. You can’t just have a stationary big. A big that is one dimensional. You gotta go at him. So I saw what towns did.

With Luka Reaves Ayton Carr LeBron We have the makings to do what the Knicks do. All our guys can shoot it. We space out and we can score at you. Now we gotta hope our young guys can make that jump. But between Smart honestly Thiero Carr we have enough on the perimeter.

Robbs got work to do. But I’m happy.

Lamelo Wolves do it. Make Edwards miserable. Cause you won’t get your shots. And you’ll be b****ing about it. Make a panic trade.

Charlotte doesn’t want to pay Lamelo either. He’s due an extension. Moneys drying up.

Did a woman actually steal a trash can from the Knicks parade. lol.

So basically the Hornets get Reid and pick swaps from a team which will be probably better than them...
I don't know, it doesn't look like a great deal for Charlotte but maybe Ball's trade value was very poor.

I get what the Wolves are doing. The Ant + huge/expensive frontcourt version of the team had hit its ceiling. Rather than seeing that team continue to age and dealing with Ant demanding out in a year or two, they’re re-orienting into a younger, more offensive-minded version with Ant/LaMelo/McDaniels. Makes sense, just not sure if LaMelo is the guy to do that with.

I wonder if we see a Gobert trade soon. I think the conventional wisdom would be this makes them less likely to move him because they need his defense now that they’ve gotten smaller, but they love that Beringer kid and I think they’re resetting a bit and building back up to compete in 2027-2028. This year might be gap year-ish to allow their young guys to get real minutes. I’d take Gobert into our cap space.

Yep perfect Lob Threat. Lamelos a selfish player. If Ant was getting his brother it would be different. Lamelo has to shoot the ball. I had Kneupel on my fantasy team. Lamelo refused to pass him the ball. He just refuses to pass it. He’d rather shoot 40 footers. He’s Deangelo Russell ish.

They aren’t as big up front. Where’s your low post offense coming from??? They’ve essentially traded Towns and Reid spacing 3 point bigs.

Good luck teams just sagging on you now. Lamelo as a corner set guy??? Not sure that works.

We definitely need to take advantage of this and go for that championship.

On another note, biggest takeaway from last night is we made a trade with the Mavs. A pretty inconsequential one (second rounder for cash), but it tells me they’ll actually pick up the phone if they see Rob calling. I do think Gafford and maybe even PJ could actually be available to us.

Will they keep Reid? Or would they waive him?

Because if they waived him......we could use him.

LaMelo isn't great. Charlotte just got better.

But I do remember the way we overrated Lonzo around here; those were fun days. That really worked out. Some of LB's finest stuff.

Or even, do we think the Grizzlies intend to keep Isaiah Stewart? Because.......same deal as Reid.

charlotte's been after a center. guess they think reid is it. i actually think he's more of a pf, and i'm probably not as big a fan of his game as most. he could look good in charlotte's up-tempo offense, but man...not sure how they plan on stopping anyone.

memphis got stewart to try to upcycle him is my guess.

but neither guy is getting cut.

the upshot for me from the charlotte trade is that they were also after a starting center and settled for naz reid (i really thought they'd move lamelo for gobert, tbh). might mean the center market is even rougher than i thought, which is hard to imagine.

anyway, you can't say tim connelly isn't always swinging! it's weird that teams keep betting on minny implosions, though. i get it. but it keeps not happening.

I wonder if we could still shoot for one of them in a small trade then.

I mean, you think Ayton would want to sign and trade for Reid?

highly doubt it. they obviously like reid, and he's worth more on the open market than ayton, for sure.

What a weird trade. Charlotte had their first good season and blow it right after.

I get trying to sell high on Lamelo, he has some injury issues, there's some questions about his character as a leader and he probably would leave to a big market as soon as he could.
But this didn't look like a sell high. They may only get a pick from this.

This is another show that there's always so much happening we don't know and trades/moves that change things very quickly.

Let's see what we pull up in the next few days
