Let’s not get caught up in the click bait all offseason. Literally all reports have been that Luka is in constant contact with the FO. All franchises are always on the clock with generational talent. It won’t be a final product in one offseason, but they have to lay down the foundation.

Be prepared for the incessant articles telling the NBA world that Luka could ask out.

I like Josh Minot he’s got the Jamaican roots hilarious and we bring in Stewart that’s a lot of Jamaicans we better make sure we got plenty of Jerk Chicken. Lol.

I like getting younger. Minot Bagley Trading for Stewart and Signing Williams and Ellis. Bringing in Dort. I can see that. Looks like we’re going to make a big play for Robinson.

and if Ayton opts in cool. Like having him as the starter. The thing I care about is roster flexibility. We need a flexible roster.

The minot signing reminds me of Malik Monk when we got him.

    how about bringing Monk back???

knowing Rob he’s working the agents seeing if the Kings buyout Demar Deozan.

Also what about taking a strike with Chris Bouchett???? Long power forward center. Athletic fits the doncic archetype. He can play pick and roll. Lob shot blocker. Skilled can shoot the three. Bring him in on the cheap.

I like giving yourself lots of options and building up your bench. There are guys out there you just have to really look and scout. And just get to work.

Seems like he mostly wants offensive pieces that fit. He has been interested in players such as Mark Williams, Okongwu and Duren, neither of whom are big time shot blockers. He also seems to just want shooters, he didn't mention 3 and D. So worst scenario, Lakers could at least put together a team that fits together offensively. Worst scenario, of course. It might fall some where in between. Just don't go get him a non lob big, just because they block shots, or non shooting wings just because they could defend. You can't just go get Beef Stew and a Herb Jones and expect him to be happy about that. This might age horribly but in terms of immediate need for Luka, don't go pick a Taris Reed, Jefferson or a Dailyn Swain over a Vaasaar. Neither are good fits for Luka right now. At least Vaassar is a lob-threat. Hayes is a lob-threat.

How much do you think Minott would cost?

Yeah but then it's our duty to tell him where he may be wrong. Listening to Luka (and seeing him play) I also capture that all offense vision. But he also never won anything and all titles, including offensive juggernauts like Warriors or C Bags, were won with great defenses.

He can have his wishes and preferences with who he prefers to play with but that needs to be integrated in a basketball strategy that maximizes the chances to win a title.
I trust JJ and Rob will do a good work about it.

And yeah I see a ton of nonsense during the next month, a lot of people seeking success in their media careers

Yeah we need to thread the needle. We need to get players who fit with Luka on offense, but are also able to defend.

Ware would be a homerun, because he is a lob threat, rim protector, and as a nice bonus he is a stretch 5.

Robinson, Williams and even Richards are UFAs that are perfect fits.

The draft picks that fit the criteria are mocked in the 2nd round. Onyenso being the big fish, but Castro and Okarpa are good too.

Of course Luka would welcome Gafford with open arms, and he is an elite rim protector.

    3 and D:
Minott (high steals, blocks rate), highly switchable, hit 3.5 threes per 36 this szn on high %.

Ellis - similar, but smaller, better poa, and less volume , but good enough volume

Smart - Great d, good enough shooter

    Other shooters

    Love
    Kennard, if necessary?
Jovic if you have to absorb him

I think Luka likes Claxton too, although his game has recently changed a bit, but he could easily go back to a simplified lob threat and rim protector role, instead of the hub role he has been trying to do in Brooklyn.

    Allen would be nice too.

Not too concerned about Luka leaving. No doubt we will have a new guy running things if Rob fails to move the needle this summer.

One way or another, I can’t imagine the team not making noticeable personnel improvements over the next couple of years.

That's a good deal. Similar to Goodwins deal, but 1 year. Or 1 + 1.

thanks for posting, but again i feel like maybe i'm missing something...the vet min cap hold is what, a million less than his salary? if you think he has *any* potential, you just exercise the option. worst case you can trade him into a tiny part of someone's exception if you need every last dollar for a FA deal or whatever.

maybe this is why i'm not an nba gm.

I think Players have an Idea how they want to play but how they want to play may not align with winning. I dont like when players try to play GM/coach.

well, it's keith smith they're quoting there (probably from his spotrac projection pieces). smith knows his stuff, so maybe it has something to do with the nature of minott's contract, bird rights, etc. it's just not obvious to me.

but i agree that situations like this are where you can capitalize: these race-to-the-bottom teams have more players than they can develop. they've definitely made mistakes. can you pick one up?

Then he is gone. He dont have much to work with. If he cant make a move and have time to make a follow up move later on then he is toast.

I think we trade all of the picks + take back some bad salary in exchange for Ware and maybe something else. The something else gives us incentive to trade all of the picks.

i know i've said it already, but as much as i'm on board with ware in theory, i can't shake the miami off him. so many instances of young players starting there and looking good and then leaving there and not. including two here.
