I hope it's not coming down to Sacre or Upshaw? C'mon....they were smarter than that, right? With Boom Boom always ready to give quality minutes against pretty much anyone.

We're not exactly in position to sign anyone until we unload Kelly/Sacre lol.

I don't see any room for him to play with Bass/Randle ahead of him, and possibly Tarik. Nance might even be ahead of him in my book.

I like the guy and the skills that he brings, but he needs to be in a situation to grow. Trade him to a team looking for a stretch 4 and try to fill our other needs like a veteran SF or PG.

Kelly has unique qualities that can mean a lot on this team and to the fan base.

    I've said too much already...

I don't want to be mistaken for a Ryan Kelly fan.

Kostas Pap has been waived; Jordan Hamilton has been waived, and Granger will probably be waived as well. Any interest?

Sure. We need help still. Waive Sacre and Kelly and bring in guys who are better fits. Papanikalou is alright, although not exciting and plays the three mostly where we have a lot of bodies. Hamilton just hasn't been impressive so far in his career, but he's a decent body. Granger is interesting as a veteran presence and I'm sure he's got some rapport with Roy. I'd take any of them over Sacre/Kelly at this point (and I still do like those guys).

Can we let Sacre go before Upshaw is signed? I'm wondering if he's gotten an offer for more than Lakers are wanting to match. Any updates on him? But Rob does give us a solid 3rd string / some minutes capable at 2nd string center.

@AlexNavidi path is unclear as they want a pg, a center and kinda need a starting SF - could be a guy like Seraphin.

My Greek homie big Papa' is solid and great off the bench. Versatile, gritty player with solid all around game. Rather have him than Kelly.. But I'm not giving away Kells for free. Mitch needs to pull off a good old fashioned nba live/2k two or three for one trade to upgrade a position while also being able to sign a couple players for great value.

I figured his stats didn't tell the story, but they weren't impressive.

Would take a flyer on Granger for the 3 spot...but he can't even get decent minutes off the pine at his last stop.

I would take Granger if we somehow free up a spot. Even if he can't give us much on the floor he was tight with Hibbert.

Getting Granger wouldn't be about his court production as much as his locker room presence and veteran leadership.

Sign me up for Granger. We need a small forward.

This would be a scary move. Sacre isn't great but he's at least a "known" entity. Upshaw is also a "known" that we are hoping changes. I would be against this. Upshaw needs to be the 15th man signed and put in the D-league for a full season to see if he can both handle the next step and stay clean.

Well D- League yeah. But if he is doing REALLY well after a bit and looks like his strengths would be greatly useful to us "this" season, then bring him up whenever logistically easy to due until he stays. We can certainly use the quick feet and rim protection to keep our D around the rim consistent through all substitutions. Will be committing the money to him with protections clauses regardless. Hoping we get him signed.

Still wondering about the very abbreviated minutes for him out of the blue in that last Summer game. Has someone offered more money than we were planning on having to spend?

I'd like to have him practicing against Hibbert every day.

I've wanted Granger for awhile. Due to his health deteriorating (knee issues) over the last few seasons, he's become a fringe rotational player over what used to be a very good starting SF.

That said, he has legit size and length to play the small forward position for 17 to 20 mph; he's also an above average 3 point shooter, and he can defend some of the bigger SF's (Durant, Lebron, Carmelo) or short periods of time.

Interestingly enough, if you do go small Granger has the size to guard some PF's. So, you'll get some additional versatility with how you can play for certain stretcha throughout the game
