And our local paper never had late scores. Only the Saturday late morning paper did.

Bonk got the answers to my 3 questions.

The Forum was always sold out at capacity of 17,505 fans
Kareem scored his infamous skyhook over 7'4" Mark Eaton in Las Vegas. I believe the Jazz played a handful of games there when they first started out in Utah.
The TV shows that were on re-run status that were shown instead of Game 6 of the Finals were Dallas and Dukes of Hazzard.

Well...Laker bloodlines run deep in his fam. In my fam, it's a party of one and that is just yours truly. Don't have any cousins that share the same passion and I'm an only child.

Actually, if memory serves, the Jazz played several "home games" in Vegas for a couple years when they were evaluating changing the rules to allow an Expansion team there. I went with the family over there to the Laker's game one year but it wasn't that one. I had to work. There was discussion about playing Kareem sparingly to have him break the record at home.

I followed religiously back then. I lost track of the team in the late 90's through the mid 2000's (Shaq Era).

You can be my honorary Bro. I got the 70's and 80's. You gotta take the 90's

I'm the same. My son was thisclose to being named Kobe and he couldn't care less. My daughter will rep the Lakers but never watches them. My sisters are Warrior fans (by default, they live in the Bay Area). My wife chose Shaq over Kobe. Ugh.

Thanks man... 80's and up, boss. 90's reminds me of "one, two, three, Cancun!" and the Lake Havasu incident.

    Thread Quiz:

    1. Who was the high profile college player Buss wanted to coin flip Sterling for? Hint: he ended up staying put when he knew the Lakers had not secured the first pick.
    2. Who was the player that erroneously ran out the clock in a playoff game against the Lakers thinking they had the lead?
    3. Who was the Laker that pretended to be injured at a party scaring the bejesus out of Riley?
    4. Which Laker player imitated an irate Dale Davis at practice one day and ended up getting clocked by the latter in the next game?
    5. Which Laker player had the ignominious nickname of "Seldom"?

No consulting of everyone's friend Google or Wiki... :)

    ^^^
    1. Ralph Sampson
    2. I don't know, but feel like it was against Dallas (or whichever series Magic did the same thing the next game)
    3. Cooper? Pretty sure it's him, but not positive.

^Two rights and partial credit on #2... I added two more BTW. :)

    Quiz #2:

    1. Which Laker player was often razzed about being "Chick Hearn's son"?
    2. Who were the starting backcourt of the 1977 Laker team that had the NBA's best record during that season?
    3. Which Laker player had the original nickname of "Diesel" prior to O"Neal?
    4. Cite what many consider Jackson's ultimate trolling moment against Portland?
    5. Which Laker player in a post game interview told Hearn to keep the clothing gift certificate noting he needed it more than he did?
