As many of you know I write for silverscreenandroll.com, and I have posted a large number of my articles here for valuable feedback. I appreciate the knowledgeable opinions of all the posters here, especially since so many of us have been discussing Lakers basketball for years on CL before making the upgrade to LB. In short, it's on CL and, by extension, LB that I started really crafting my voice as a writer through the lively discussions we have had. After all, Lakers fandom is nothing if not obsessively captivating. Since this is where it all began and where I still come for Lakers talk I wanted to share this latest development with all of you. I'm proud to say that I've accepted a job with LakersNation.com, and starting sometime in August I will have a weekly piece appearing there. Some of you already know this, but LN is the largest Lakers site on the internet by a very large margin. SS&R is #2 and growing, in fact during my time there we blew every other SB Nation NBA blog out of the water in terms of site traffic...by no means am I taking credit for that, there are many excellent writers there and the site editor does an absolutely tremendous job at pushing everyone to excel. I'm happy to be able to say my work played a very minor role in the continued growth of SS&R. That being the case, it was a very tough decision to leave SS&R. I have a ton of respect for the staff there and after seeing behind the curtain I can say that the site is headed for very big things. In the end though the job that was being offered to me with LN was simply too great to pass up. I've been working hard to make a name for myself in the sports world, and while by no means am I at the level I want to be at, this is a big step. Making the leap from blogger to a professional position is incredibly difficult, so this is a major milestone for me personally. Anyway, I wanted to share the news with everyone here. I'll keep everyone posted as to when my first LN piece will be published! Thank you to everyone at LB who has read my articles and encouraged me to keep pushing, I sincerely appreciate it.
Great job, and good luck. I'm going to go ahead and move this to Open Discussion since this isn't Laker related news.
Oh you kidder .... I thought you never joke and were serious about wanting Baron Davis (even maybe) ? :ShaqOh:
Congratz. Can't say I didn't see something like this coming. When I checked the traffic stats for SS&R I added contacting you with some monetization ideas to my to do list. That list is usually a mile long so I didn't get to it yet, but I'm glad to see you coming up in another way. Keep pumping out that quality content.
I think it's safe to say, as human beings... If you're not getting better, you're getting worse. Keep pushing yall, our lakers are doing the same thing. Make every day count while taking things one day at a time. Happy Sunday everyone, let's get ready for a great new up coming week.
It's gonna be one of those "yo, remember that cat that used to..." things. Last one I believe that had some cache was GumbyGold...
