What exactly is Kurt's role in the organization? I believe I remember someone on here, saying that Kurt was actually pretty good in his role here, I just don't remember what that role is supposed to be.

Kurt's role is to do whatever Linda tells him to do.

I think his official title is an advisor and he has had a lot of input on decisions over the years.

i think i've intentionally forgotten some of the reasons kurt made me worry. feel like it had to do with him wanting some things i think slick would like...like: "let's get three vucevics, mix things up a bit..."

pretty sure rambis's official title has been "senior bball advisor" ever since he returned to the lakers. what he does exactly? who the f*** knows

after the news about tim harris, the rambii and hopefully pelinka will be getting nice severance packages in the offseason

i think harris and the rambii already got theirs in that side deal jeanie (didn't?) cut while selling the team out from under the lil bros.

rob was not part of that, so i'm not as sure he's already a dead man walking. i am pretty sure he won't be lone-wolf-ing it this summer, though, and that if he doesn't function well as part of the new team, he won't be on it.

but unless he's being lied to by upper upper management, it seems he's going to get a chance.

i think it depends on how deep they go in the playoffs. if they lose in the first round again, i'd be surprised if pelinka's retained. walter likely wants his own guy in there and he'd have no reason to keep rob around if they exit the playoffs early

    Asked google:

Where does Mark Walter's reported monetary wealth rank with the other owners in the NBA?

    As of February 2026,
Mark Walter ranks as one of the top 15 wealthiest owners in the NBA, though his exact position varies by source due to disparate valuations of his primary wealth source, Guggenheim Partners.

    Wealth Ranking and Net Worth
Walter's reported wealth fluctuates between $6.1 billion (Forbes) and $12.5 billion(Bloomberg). Based on these figures, his standing among NBA peers is as follows:
    • Conservative Estimate ($6.1B - $7B): Walter ranks roughly 14th to 15th, placing him near owners like Micky Arison (Miami Heat) and Josh Harris (Philadelphia 76ers).
    • High-End Estimate ($12.5B): He climbs into the top 10, surpassing owners such as Tilman Fertitta (Houston Rockets) and Tony Ressler (Atlanta Hawks).

    Comparison with Richest NBA Owners
Walter remains significantly behind the league's wealthiest individuals:

Rank Owner Team Estimated Net Worth
    1 Steve Ballmer LA Clippers $123B - $155B
    2 Miriam Adelson Dallas Mavericks $29.8B - $39.9B
    3 Dan Gilbert Cleveland Cavaliers $26.7B - $33.1B
4 Ann Walton Kroenke Denver Nuggets $21.3B
5 Joe Tsai Brooklyn Nets $13.7B

    Ownership Expansion
Walter significantly increased his influence in the NBA by finalizing the acquisition of a majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers in October 2025. The deal valued the franchise at a record $10 billion, with Walter and partner Todd Boehly now controlling an estimated 85% of the team.

the wealth of some these guys is hard to even fathom - Ballmer is worth as much as the rest of the top 10 combined! Those are some deep and dumb pockets to throw at a lawsuit against the NBA if they come down hard on the Clippers for just caring about planting enough trees for the environment

Are you saying the NBA should let Ballmer off the hook with this being the 3rd time he’s been investigated by the league, just because he’s rich?

should and will are different things, and this has been an issue in this thread. i get arguing the world sucks, and thus extremely wealthy people playing by rules will never happen, but...it should.

Not sure how you got that from my post - I'm saying that NBA and Silver is definitely taking into consideration that Ballmer is essentially worth as much as the entire NBA. Whether they choose not to take action because they don't have the balls to do it with that much potential legal firepower pointed at them "Ballmer just wanted to help the environment by getting a basketball superstars endorsement) to they're going to take their damn sweet time to come to a finality so that all their t's are crossed this will impact how the NBA does business with Ballmer

Hell no if that means Magic weasels his way back into the organization. The man is an executive dimwit.

Silver lost his balls since the bubble when he catered to the BS social garbage that ruined his leagues image. And he has progressively gotten worse and all they have now is TV deals and gambling. And a s***ty product. I guess that's all that matters in the end.

Listen broseph, you all are gonna find out the difference soon enough. Stubborn a** fools in here just can't grasp who's in charge here. Too many people's heads stuck up Jeanie, Rob's and the Rambis a** to finally get it out and think clearly.

By the way, Lon Rosen is a separate person from Magic Johnson. And he's going to run business operations not player personnel. So, all the daisy's in here who are getting Ivica Zubac flashbacks, save it or take yourself with the current group that will soon be gone. Because frankly, I done listening to your whining. I'm gonna call it all out until you cry to your mammies.
