The technical term for his condition is a "Tank for a higher draft pick" tumor.

The timing is bad for the Jazz but I actually don’t think this is the case. At least not from what I’m reading. We will see.

As for the Vando - Sochan comp. Kid is a much better passer than Vando, he's also more athletic. Other than that, they're pretty similar players.

Yeah, if he has what they're saying, it's legit. It sounds bad, and very rare. .0000018% possibility of happening. Yikes.

maybe vertically a better athlete--he's a better finisher at the rim, i think. but in terms of perimeter speed and agility, i probably give the nod to vando.

yeah, i don't think it's fake. i would definitely have questions about whether memphis knew about this, though.

as for severity, i have no idea. it just sounds like something that has a likelihood of recurrence/complications.

I remember when he stripped Harden 2 or 3 posessions in a row, kid was like a glue.
That being said, i don't want either him or Vando LOL. No shot = no love from me.

The league really needs to set some universal rules for disclosure of injury status IMO. The Jazz might have known but who knows. But standard practices and physicals across the board would go a long way to eliminate things we went through like DFS being upset or the Mark Williams trade.

so dicey with just normal patient privacy stuff, though. like i'm sure the lakers medical staff is dying to put out the reasons they recommended rescinding that williams trade, but it violates his patient rights. and in this case, it's tens of millions of dollars on the line. i'm very curious to see how phx handles his FA this summer. historically, they have a great medical team--enough to commit the kind of money his play is warranting right now?

I'm not his doctor and have no way of actually knowing... buuuut, there were reports of the Jazz sitting JJJ for tank purposes before this "benign tumor" was even discovered. Has Ainge stink all over it. My guess is they found some small thing they could have removed to justify sitting him for the rest of the year. Call me jaded when it comes to Danny Ainge.

well, it's technically his son...but sure...it fits what they're trying to do. and it fits with the suggested treatment protocol for such a condition. and maybe it's a big nothingburger, and he just has to wear a kneebrace in his 60s to get around. but there's also a chance that this thing just keeps regrowing and requiring further "minor" surgeries (there are no minor surgeries).

Knecht + 2026 1st round pick (projected 23) + 2033 1st round pick for Kessler (descending deal starting at 35 million). Utah already paying JJJ and Markenan 95 million combined. Utah could use the young talent and players. Knecht is negative value but they might like him a little better than most teams. He dropped 9 threes against them.
