[Sarcasm]Thanks for dressing up[/sarcasm] If he gives us the spark off the bench that he gave TOR, he can wear whatever he wants.
You realize if you watched or maybe even listened to the presser that he was joking when he said whoever has the ball.
That was really funny. But still the question was an insult. I wonder why journalists try to be a d*** sometimes. If it was me, I would have said something to insult him.
Yes, I watched. My post was half-joking because regardless of how he delivered the answer, I'm not sold it won't turn out to exactly that.
^ It probably will. Which is alright, since we'll need extra help from the bench anyway. I really expect these two guys to score 30-35 points every time.
You're going to like what Lou ends up actually looking like on the floor. He's far, far, far more of a creator than people are giving him credit for. Nick Young over his entire career has averaged 1.1 assists per game and 1.2 turnovers. Even in Nick's lone strong season with us he averaged 1.5 assists to 1.5 turnovers. Williams has averaged 2.9 assists to 1.4 turnovers. That's more than 2 assists per turnover. Lou has averaged under 3 assists (usually closer to 3.5 assists) only 3 times in his career: his first two years where he hardly played and last year where Derozan was hurt and Toronto needed a scorer. Some games Lou and Nick will definitely get caught up chucking shots, but Lou Williams is far from the black hole that Nick is.
Lou and Nick catching firing will be fun to watch. Those two can blow open games for us....... Also can shoot us out of some but if nick can commit to play some decent defense, they can work well together.
Nick actually getting set up for a shot instead of iso would be a very good thing for the bench, my biggest concern is Nick and not Lou. Nick playing offball to get open isn't something I see a lot of. Lou can dish out the prettiest dimes in the world but if swaggy puts them back on the floor and dribbles around it's gonna stifle the offense. Maybe this is worrying a bit early but it isn't a facet of Swag's game I've seen shine so far.
True enough, but I think that's incumbent on Lou to work that out with him. I've seen Nick look alright as a catch-and-shoot guy. I don't see why Lou can't find him in spots that he likes unless Nick doesn't WANT to let that happen. But we've got some (admittedly shaky) depth at SF now. If Nick starts acting up, we just bench him. Anthony Brown might suck, but he'll try to do the right things.
That made me chuckle. Not because any of it is inaccurate or something I don't agree with, but the way you phrased it made me LOL...
I'm not sure Young and Williams will get to play together. I don't think Scott cares much for Young and I think we got Williams to replace him when we can find a taker. Williams is a much better version of what Young is.
All this Lou off the bench talk assumes Russell is already penciled in as a starter. I'll believe that when I see it. Kobe is not going to be happy sharing the rock with a rook and i'm not sure Byron is going to extend Russell all that confidence. My money is on Lou starting game 1.
