Andre Miller is one of the smartest pointguards in the league. Having him on the bench mentoring Russel will be great. And he knows a thing or two about killing your opponent without athleticism.
I know he's not the smartest cookie in the world but I've heard via Pat Riley that he's matured a lot and improved his defense. Miami Heat decline Michael Beasley's contract option
...Miller would be a sensible addition. He can run through Blake Griffin just for old times sake. Miller would have a chance for four games.
Yeah, I don't know about Beasley. We worked him out twice a couple of years ago and passed on him. I don't see going in that direction quite honestly.
Beasley would have been a good option at the 3 spot... However I don't want him anywhere near Upshaw who is trying to keep himself straight. Imagine if the Lakers had landed Lawson too. "Police Squad" city...
If his defense and maturity improved... why'd they get rid of him? I'm not interested honestly. We've got plenty of wings now. We need combo guard depth and then we can roll into the season.
Yeah, if he's solid, and you decline a former what, #2 pick talent anyways? That doesn't scream maturity or value. They could use that kind of talent or asset, so apparently he's still going nowhere fast.
J.R. Smith is still available and Cavs just signed Richard Jefferson. I wonder if Byron would want J.R. on the team. He played under Byron for 2 years with the Hornets. He knows the Princeton. Anybody wanna see a bench big 3 of J.R. Smith, Lou Williams and Nick Young?
I can't speak for anyone else, but me? No, hell no, don't want Smith anywhere near this team. We have Jabari Brown, I'm good with giving him a shot.
If that turns out to be our bench big 3, Byron might as well tell the other 2 on the floor to stay on the defensive end 24/7 soccer style.
JR Smith? With Williams and Young? They would have to re-program all the video games if that happens.
I think the fact that he opted out of his contract after a mediocre playoff run -- thinking he was going to cash in big time -- tells me his head isn't necessarily on straight. I don't want to hear about fist fights at practice in Kobe's last year.
They did... Scott ran Smith out of town for being immature and for conduct detrimental to the team. I don't think he's changed much. He'll probably look to hitch up with a contending team...
It would definitely be interesting. Mostly because they'd need to take the 1 basketball and divide it into 1/3's for it to work.
pg - Lou Williams sg - JR Smith sf - Nick Young pf - Michael Beasley c - Doesn't matter cause we going 82-0.
