Coupled with decreased minutes played and no word on his contract, I'm not hopeful.

I don't think he ever had a Twitter to begin with.

I'm 90% sure he's in limbo until we can make room for him on the roster.

The decreased playing time might have to do with not letting other teams see his talent. He can still be signed by other teams if I remember correctly?

Otherwise....I hope some off-court issues have not come up. That would not be good. I really liked what I saw from Upshaw and definitely want him on the team.

If something came up, there would probably be a milion articles about it already, laughing at the Lakers and how stupid the FO was to trust a guy with so many red flags. I still expect us to sign him

Thanks, @Doc Brown I wonder why they don't just sign him already.

If they are just introducing the veteran new players, it would make sense new the new youngin might be delayed. Still seems strange though...

I'm convinced that we're not through with other roster moves at this point. Think about it this way:

We don't have much leverage in contract negotiations with camp invites if we have 15 guys under contract entering camp.

We can take more guys into camp than 15. We just to have be below 15 before the season starts.

It's not about going into camp with bodies; it's about what leverage we have in contract negotiations, or at least that's what I was suggesting. If we have fifteen guys under contract right now and we invite someone, they might think, "Why bother here? I'll look at a team where there are fewer than 15 with (even partially) guaranteed deals."

We only have 14 guys under contract right now.....

    Russell / JC
    Kobe / Lou / Brown
    Young / Brown / Nance
    Randle / Bass / Kelly
    Hibbert / Black / Sacre

But look how many of them are bigs. I think Upshaw and his agent want him with the Lakers. I think the Lakers want him here, but I think they need to shed a couple of those guys to make room for Upshaw.

Also I think it's more like this:

    Russell/Williams
    Clarkson/Brown
    Bryant/Young/Brown
    Randle/Bass/Nance Jr./Kelly
    Hibbert/Black/Sacre

Upshaw would be 15. This is what I'm saying. I could be wrong in terms of my suggested motivation, but everything else I'm saying is factually accurate.

Although a team can go up to 20 players on the roster during the offseason, only 15 can be carried into the season. If you see a team with 15 already, you might be turned off and head elsewhere for a team that doesn't have 15 bodies currently locked in. That's all I'm suggesting.

How about moving Kelly, Sacre, and Jabari for Mario Chalmers?

    Russell/Chalmers
    Clarkson/Williams
    Byrant/Young/Brown
    Randle/Bass/Nance Jr.
    Hibbert/Black/Upshaw

Send Anthony Brown and Robert Upshaw to the D-League? Sign another old veteran PG/SG type? Prigioni, Andre Miller, John Lucas III, or Will Bynum. Or go the other direction there's guys like Kendall Marshall, Donald Sloan, Willie Green, Sebastian Telfair, or Jimmer Fredette.

I like it. Not sure Miami wants our crap for their crap, but it's worth making a call. I think Sacre might get cut outright if we can't find a home for him. He's a decent 3rd string center. Not sure why we couldn't find a team to take him, even if it's for free.
