I trade Reaves for Giannis in a second, it gives us a chance to win now and it keeps him from ending up on SA, Denver, Boston, OKC, etc. Reaves is the only reason we’d be in the conversation, there is no Giannis trade without Reaves because we don’t have the picks or players aside from him, his recent play is the only reason we’d even be able to come to the negotiating table. Plus after how just got Luka for only one first and no Reaves there’s no way teams are eager to see us get Giannis for a bargain and would do anything to undercut us. But yeah, love Reaves, but Giannis is a former MVP/Finals MVP, no brainer to me. All that said I don’t see it happening, many other teams can offer more, and again, league hates us after stealing Luka.

I don't remember where I saw it, but I saw some conversation among Knick fans about how they don't think Bridges is being used correctly. Basically, they're deploying him as their primary on-ball defender, which he's pretty good at, but he's best as a helper and playing passing lanes. I think the analogy was that he's a free safety that they're trying to turn into a shutdown corner. Anyways, I went with OG as the target for us for that reason - we need someone that can guard the ball and be a legit stopper (although I'm not sure OG can do that against guards as much anymore, hence why they're using Bridges the way they apparently are). But I'd be very happy with either.

I think you have to kick the tires on a possible Giannis trade if he signals that he does indeed want out. But ultimately I don't really see it happening for us. And honestly I'm ok with that too.

Atlanta is the team I'd like to see get involved. Just please stay in the East.

Both Miami and the Knicks have nothing to trade.

He should wait until 2027. Then he can go wherever he wants and not drain the team he goes to of talent and assets.

If we don't trade for Giannis, what is the plan long term? What bigs/defensive specialists are going to be available in the next year or so that a) we can pair with Luka, and b) we can realistically acquire?

we have pretty clean books and haven't spent all of our picks. guys of the daniel gafford tier will be available periodically.

with luka and reaves, you don't need any more shot creators (maybe a sixth man type, but not a big money type), and they're the most expensive thing to acquire.

rim running bigs and athletic perimeter defenders are easier to get, imo, and that's all we'd need.

what's the situation with Lebron's contract if he leaves at the end of the season? I assume we just lose that salary slot and can't get anyone to replace him because we're capped? and use that salary to pay Reaves and maybe Ayton?

Windy is saying that the Bucks are going to try to accommodate Giannis's choice of team, which is the Knicks. If the Knicks do manage to swap KAT for Giannis with KAT going to a third team, I wonder if Giannis would consider playing the 5 full time. Brunson/Bridges/Hart/OG/Giannis would be a hell of a lineup.

Man if the Lakers can get OG or Mikal as side move by moving those Lakers picks you got to do it. Maybe even better then getting Gianni's as you get to keep AR and the salary cap stays reasonable

Wing defenders whose ages matches Luka man.

But man if SAS gets him? Doubt Gianni's wants to go to another small market

Well a non KAT trade would be OG plus Hart works. It will be interesting what the Bucks will do. I suspect they can get more for OG and Hart when they move to make secondary moves. Moving KAT is hard due to hai contract and he's hard to fit
