you posted an inferior metric about this year (early data are super noisy) that said zubac was bad defensively. i showed you that a better metric has him as quite good for a long period of time (and on the same level using the same metric as a guy whom i'm sure you would agree is an "objectively" good defender).

Zubac is a terrible defender against this team, that's what I said.That's what I see. If we play them in the post-season, we are going to hunt him relentlessly. I hope Lue thinks that he's a good defender too. Advantage Lakers.

From what I've seen of Zubac, since he's been on the Flippers, is that he's a target, for any scorer with a handle. That's a liability in the playoffs, It's exploitable during the regular season. I wouldn't consider him a "good" defensive 5, not in this Conference. I don't need some advanced stats, to interpret what I see. Now he would have worked well, with AD IMO, he's a traditional bigman.

Back to this metrics stuff, You put more into it than I do, that's your thing. I think that stuff is overrated, but that's my opinion. You keep posting that jazz for Gasol too, lol..dude was washed here man. Analytics be dawned. I think Vogel saw it the same.

When Zubac was drafted. He was Jim Buss project. And Jim Buss compared him to Marc Gasol. One of the reporters who I was hanging with who was covering the Lakers said Jim Buss says that’s his guy. He was in the summer league with Russell and Ingram.

Zubac improved as a scorer. But was always like a wall. A tree. He was never that jumping jack forward/Center that could switch and defend. Let’s just call facts facts.

with all his improvements the problem with him is his perimeter defense. With a guy like Kawhi who’s clearly lost a step on defense. And James Harden who’s never been Gary Payton. The Clippers get exposed.

between Austin Luka and LeBron we exposed Zubac basically playing him out of the game. Because constantly Luka was toying with him.

I’ve seen other guards do this to the Clippers who you see their record at what it is.


Guys like Claxton you really can’t do that to. But you give it back up when they can’t score s*** on offense. So yes he is a defensive liability because you have to try to help him.

I"m pretty sure Lebron hates DLo and vice versa - it will be an interesting game as I could see JJ put Lebron on either him or his buddy AD.
