Yeah I think more and more, the gap between regular season and playoffs style will just continue to grow, imo.

Even us will need to adapt, especially by not starting Rui. He was non-existent when Bron came back, there's just no touches for him and he doesn't do all the other things, especially rebounding.

Only thing that bothers me about Ellis is he's on the smallish side - I actually watched a Kings game!!! They eventually tried him on Murray and you could see the effort but Murray seemed a bit too strong for him. Maybe having to suffer thru the Miami midget acquisitions in Nunn and Gabe has made me jumpy when evaluating size lol

Kind of weird to put a lot of hope on a player who hasn't seen big minutes since being of all teams the Sixers a few years back but the guy who has impressed me in short bouts has been thybulle in Portland when not hurt. Reeally good size, great defensive instincts, and the jumper actually looks natural now.

 

For anyone who wasn’t around in the old original forum- club Lakers, this is basically just a running joke about how the forum always latches hold of a guy on someone’s bench that we think has potential and obsesses over him.

The first guy most of us recall was Marcus Banks.

Sky obsessed over getting someone like him for a couple years because like now we needed more defense and athleticism. Fisher was getting hammered for his defense maybe worse than AR. Then finally a mid season deal brought us Trevor Ariza in his young prime and the next few years Metta Ron World Peace Artest.

 

Wow it’s a changing. Andrew Friedman and Farhan Zaidi coming over to the Lakers. Mark Watters will have all Basketball operations. Jeanie will serve as the face. I guess. Interviews. Shaking hands kissing babies.

Well s*** should we just merge the Lakers and Dodgers discussion. lol. Lakers to become more analytics based.

Magic always likes being the face. Not for work. He’ll show up for the games on T.V. And clap his hands. But he ain’t scouting. Rob was doing the work. And when you get the call like he did for Nico for Luka you gotta have somebody who keeps their mouth shut. And that’s Rob. Magic would be talking to everybody we getting Luka and then we get a basketball reasons. So sometimes you need a guy to keep his mouth shut. Cause when you get those trades you just gotta make em.

 

I looked up his stats (defensive ratings) during his finals run w/Phoenix, and he wasn't bad, I'd even say pretty good in the team defensive scheme. Luka, Reaves, & Rui probably aren't doing him any favors. I have a feeling those number might get worse with LBJ back if he decides to take off nights again, which will happen.

Would have to dig in more, though.
