trying to distance himself from the 2023 draft is sort of too on the nose for me.

but again, why not just clean jeanie out, too? if i'm running an organization, and there's in-fighting that's causing issues, i probably just chuck them all out.

and to reiterate what elgin said earlier...jhs was just a bad draft pick. it happens. to everyone. a lot. so weird that it's become some sort of fulcrum upon which all judgments balance.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me. He can’t throw people under the bus fast enough on his way out.

"When Mark Walter's Guggenheim group purchased the Dodgers in 2012, they initially maintained much of the existing baseball operations leadership to ensure stability. However, significant changes to the scouting and front office staff were implemented later, specifically after the 2014 season, as the new ownership built out its own structure.
Initially, General Manager Ned Colletti and the existing staff, including scouting director Logan White, remained in their positions. Sweeping changes occurred after the 2014 season when:
    • Andrew Friedman was hired as the President of Baseball Operations.
    • Farhan Zaidi was named the new General Manager.
    • Billy Gasparino replaced Logan White as the new Scouting Director.
    • Gabe Kaplan replaced De Jon Watson as the new Farm Director.
Under the new leadership structure established by Walter's ownership group, the Dodgers subsequently expanded their front office to include one of the largest analytical departments and one of the largest scouting staffs in baseball, a key part of their strategy to become a perennial contender. The ownership group is known for a "hands-off" management style, delegating day-to-day operations to the baseball executives they hired."

It would actually be a nice way to bookend the Buss tenure with a Championship this season.
I’m certain Jeanie will be shown the door this summer.

She's expected to remain the governor for the next 5 years.

That could change, but I doubt it, IMO.

Unreal that a billion dollar organization was run like this - the head of scouting only communication with head of operations was him telling who they were drafting??

Ned Colletti was a damn good GM too. He drafted Kershaw, Will Smith, Corey Seager, signed Puig, Urias and Justin Turner. He was also had the best record in the National League as a GM during his 9 year run with 783 wins.

For those who aren't Dodger fans, in telling you right now, you are going to be in for a treat. You will see state or the art organization without the meddling and some of the most down to earth billionaires you will ever see. The Lakers are going to be the standard again and it's going to be like that as long as the Guggenheim's own the Lakers.
