nowhere near the hoop iq. that's the difference, as knecht is every bit the shooter and a better athlete at roughly the same size. hoop iq matters.
Liked the effort and awareness tonight. Played the baseline well. Shot with confidence. Competed defensively. Head was up in the passing lane. Good job!
I agree. I'm actually inclined to hold onto him this trade deadline. He's been responding well to JJ. It's slowly sinking in. I'm more inclined to move Gabe and Maxi with a pick.
Another example of the problem, with making definitive statements about players, after having only played a handful of games.
I tend to give players some benefit of the doubt and pray that the coaches and FO types know better than me. They dang well should but we all know that they are often just as human as we are. But, I also don't worry much when our coaches and FO make moves that I was not really thinking was coming. Like trading AD for Luka. Who could have predicted that. Heck, I am one of the guys around here who really loved AD but never questioned that trade. Now, after hearing some of the rumors about how our FO felt about AD, even that doesn't surprise or bother me. It is what it is. The man is too often injured, just a fact. If he was healthy 90-95% of the time, he would likely be a top 3 player in this league but alas .... that never happened. I am hoping that Walter knows how to build a winning team in the NBA and is willing to spend more than the Buss family was willing to spend. No knock on the Buss family, I just think that family owned sports teams are a thing of the past. I operate more on hope than anger and finger pointing. I use sports as a means of escaping from a world that is much worse and just don't see the point of getting too worked up. It is just a game.
i'm inclined to trust what the FO does here, in part because of what wino was saying: they have access to more information than we do. i was half-surprised when they picked up knecht's 3rd year after his awful summer/preseason/earlygoing--particularly given they had no qualms about cutting jhs loose last year (they valued his expiring money more than potential development). anyway, that means it's unlikely he's considered a throw-in for us in trade scenarios, regardless of what other teams or fans/media think.
