I'm always amped for a new season of Laker basketball, even in the down years, and I've seen quite a few over the years. This team is young, full of promise, with a sprinkle of a motivated Kobe Bryant ready to prove his detractors wrong again. I'm with everyone who posted that what we want to see is the development of the young players with a new identity for this group, washing away the bad taste of the last few seasons. This team has a physical presence led by Randle that we have not seen for some time, with the tempered quickness that will put pressure on opposing defenses to get back. It's been remarkable how Scott has got them defending so well in the last 3 preseason games after those horrendous performances earlier. It will be fun to see unfold, and I got a feeling they could do what the Suns did last year, surprise everyone with a solid competitive season.
I decided before the season to temper my expectations but how could I when I see Randle banging his way inside against legit NBA big men Davis blocking two shots in a row in one defensive possession and Jeremy Lin seemingly penetrating at will against everybody Championship
I've pretty much flushed last season down the toilet. Kobe and the Lakers basically took a year off. I'm excited to see how a rejuvenated and rested kobe can lead this team of promising young talent and see how far they can go. I know their ceiling is probably a lower sealed playoff spot but that would be just fine. Especially since everyone has practically write them off as a lottery team.
My fire was sad to say barely lit last few years but now im fired the eff up after cleaning up my life. Taking some of the loads of wood I get and was using on the 49ers camp fire to back to the Laker side. Progress WILL be made, everything happens for a reason, well find out what our destiny is for this year. Lets have some fun with it.
I was excited to start last year, despite 'Antoni, because we had some great young talent. Then the injuries happened and the wind went out of the sails. Fire is back for this year - Beat Houston!
lolz. Is there somebody going to be writing a blog type of recap a day after games or anything like that? I mean I definitely dont mind chatting about it haha, but if its somebodys knowledgeable insight after game of where the team/players stand, that would just be fricken fantastic.
I'm just happy we get another chance to see Kobe play, its been rough two years. Hopefully he gets to go out for however long he wants to play for on a healthy note. Also, anxious to see the development of Randle.
Yeah..... but what if someone wrote one and it SUCKED? Then we'd feel obligated to give at least an "attaboy". With a bad post, you just hammer it mercilessly.
