The offense just looks so bad, if this is what we plan on running I'm not so sure it will look better with the more seasoned players running it. A lot of us thought we were going to kill it in SL.... boy were we wrong, at least thats knocking us back to reality. These young guys need a lot of work and Byron needs to put them in a position to do well. Theres a lot of ifs and if the majority of them go well we probably win around 35 games, not 8th seed aspirations.

"Highly dysfunctional"? That's almost generous, and I'm not being sarcastic here. I'm surprised they managed to score as much as they did running that... whatever it is. Anyway, few of our guys had nice individual games today. Russ showed some flashes of brilliance.

Russell looked more comfortable today in the offense.

The offense is just fine. The execution of it is atrocious. It will get better with time and practice. You can't install this type of offense in 3 or 4 practices.

I think what we are all feeling is the let down of the first page of the new laker dynasty in the making. we all want it back so bad we are dying to win summer league games and over evaluating the results when we should be looking at them for what they are - a chance to see some of the game of the guys who are going to be part of the next generation. Lets not get too down on things. Madsen is not an NBA coach. If we lose 8 in a row and go get bernie bickerstaff again...then im with you

Yeah, wow! Too bad we're not adding a Kobe Bryant to the team this year..... whatever happened to him anyway?

Never thought of this, but young Kobe, especially on a video of that quality looks like Penny clone.

I wonder what Shaq, back then, thought of it.

My favorite player before Kobe was Penny.

Holy s***...Was he only 17 there? His explosivenes and body control were just unbelieveable. As thin as Kobe was coming into the league he was just plain physical out there. What a talent.

Hahaha...Was that game right after Bowen was labelled the Kobe stopper or was it just another game where Kobe annihilated him?

They don't make players like 17 year old Kobe anymore, such a shame.

Or better way to put it is: 17 year olds who want to play in the NBA don't work on their games like the 17 year old Kobe did. God given talent matched with a superior will to win and an uncompromising work ethic

This is a Russell highlight video, but look at the screens Upshaw sets for him.

I'm telling you @trodgers the scouting report on Upshaw is he's a "shot blocking savant" but I think he's an even better screen setter. He's enormous and has great screen form.

Yeah, he sets some amazing screens, and if they fail he will reset them without too much trouble. Russ is much more effective with Upshaw's screens.

Spurs are your SUmmer League Champs. And surprise surprise, sporting a team of 10 undrafted players and Kyle Anderson being the "big name".
