This guy is in my doghouse if he doesn't dominate Suns scrubs in the last minutes

Is passing to Knecht his only role:giggle: nice disruptive effort on defense, too

Hopefully this is addressed before game 2.

I'm not suggesting even starting Laravia, but he or Smart or Vando need to be the ones drawing that assignment. Not Gabe.

My god Vando? Killed the offense yesterday. It was like drinking hemlock.

LaRavia was a whole lot of meh on offense as well. Didn't look great shooting and off the dribble his handle look that great either. But still a lot better then Vando I guess

I like his approach to the game. He's like AR, no wonder they're buddies.
They're fully concentrated on the game and just want to compete.

With Jake it will be the talent that decides his career. Does he have enough? We shall see

Doesn't seem to matter who our coach is, our offense always looks like we're playing in muck up to our knees. Would it hurt to take at least a step or two, one way or another...lol. We have two guys moving, sometimes three and the others are statues that catapult shots into the night. We started with DA like we ended with AD, throw him the ball and watch him be swarmed without cutting to an open basket. Then the coach, whoever it is, says we will watch film and figure it out. Next game is the same. Hoping for something more tonight.

    I'm impressed by his defense.

It makes sense why he has a spot over Knecht.

He’s not going to pour on the points, at least not most nights, but his defense has been really damn good. He’s good at mostly staying down and if he does bite on a fake he recovers well for a quick second attempt at disrupting a shot, and he moves his feet well, even got switched onto Gobert under the hoop one time and boxed him out well. Smart defender, just needs to find his spots on offense.

Still seems like a downgrade over DFS since he's been so meh on offense

On the bright side he's a lot younger and his defense surprisingly that far off from DFS. He doesn't quite have the basketball IQ of DFS but the fall off overall on defense hasn't been that noticy

Unsung hero tonight. His defense on Naz and Jules was very effective. Just a bigger, stronger body than DFS.

well, all that and i believe DFS is still out with the injury that concerned us and is old and paid thrice as much.

He is a decent rotation guy. Does a bit of everything, shoots, defends, hustles. Let’s see how he goes over the next 10 or so games as he gets acclimated.

He and Smart are bringing much needed defensive intensity. I think they'll need few more games to fully gel with the team.

Let’s not forget, DFS had plenty of invisible nights on offense. DFS got more blocks as a helper, but going off the eye test, I actually think Laravia is a better man defender at this stage in their careers by a decent margin.

Wishing DFS the best, but personally don’t miss him. Ayton+Laravia >>> DFS.

I think he has more to give. It's natural it will take him some time to adjust but I believe he will be a solid role player around the ASG.

I see him having a stint with double figures on points constantly when he figures it out offensively

I think he ends up being a solid rotation player on the long term with this group. Along Thiero providing wing depth. We can focus all our chips in getting the starters

His offensive adjustment will come. He is doing just what we need for now. Very nice pick up and in my mind an overall upgrade. Time will tell.

read about him being a connector type on offense, and you can really see it. just keeps the ball moving to good spots even if he's not making the shot or assist. he looks bigger than he's listed out there, too. i think he'll eventually figure out where his shots come from and make a good percentage, too.
