Luka Doncic Discussion: Lean Mean Slovenian Extension Machine

Interesting that my friends and I were just talking about the one they have here in ATL.

 

That was awesome.

 

With the early health concerns for Lebron and Smart, I’m really happy he extended this summer to avoid the incessant questions of whether he’ll resign. I don’t think it was ever in doubt, but at least there’s no legitimate discussion.

 

Luka is loyal. I have a feeling he retires as a Laker.

The best way to look after our guys is being disciplined with minutes. Don’t let him go above 34 mins.

At times it means you’ll lose a game you could win. But it’s about the long term.

 

yeah, but he's like lebron and wants to be out there. his quote about doing whatever it takes while lebron was out worried me a bit for that reason. despite the jokes about his physique, the guy plays really hard, and he carries a ton of the offense and gets attacked a lot on defense.

reaves also plays a physically challenging style and really seems to run into trouble if he plays too many minutes. ideally, i'd like to keep luka under 34 and reaves under 32. with lebron out, i'm not sure we see either of those.

Luka is just sooo Likable everyone wants a piece of that. A whole lot like Kawhi and Asperion.

 

Did you notice how animated and sincere and pissed off Kawhi was in denying this “conspiracy” about him on Clips Media Day? Only thing he seemed unhappy about was having to even speak. Sign that dude up as our spokesman 28M … he’s more important than ALL those other celebs.

If Lakers are in top 4, my guess he'll probably win MVP. He led to Dallas to the Finals 2 years ago all fat and stuff, and now he looks to be in the best shape he's been in years. I think the league is sleeping on him a bit oddly enough due to the trade buzz and the typical Lakers drama.

He looked like a machine in Euroleague and based on pre-season likely roll over. Btw scoring and assists it's like a point a minute for him.

 

i think we'd have to be a top-2 seed, tbh. the press doesn't like luka very much, and they hate the lakers.

 

The MVP “award” is meaningless.

 

Maybe to you who only counts championships for your team - a MVP is far removed as it's an individual award that a fan can't claim. However, I think every NBA player would love to be counted as the best amongst his peers. It's a mark of respect and excellence. It's also incredibly important in ranking against contemporaries. The added benefit is, if a player wins an MVP he is generally highly influential to winning for his team.

If Luka wins the MVP, we're probably a top 4 seed and playing quite well.
