it's for the other guys. they don't have much experience with luka, in particular, and playing with him is quite different than playing with most other guys. watching gs get reps with their geriatric core while we sit a non-injured luka was a bit frustrating. the first two preseason games were absolutely useless in basically all ways. a bunch of guys playing roles they won't be playing when the games count. a bunch of lineups that will never see the floor together unless something disastrous has occurred.
Players need time to play together to get in sync Tough to use the first 10 games of the season to do this as wins and loses at the first part of the year are as important as the ones at the end of the year Sounds like AI
I agree to an extent but did feel the Lakers were trying to overcompensate for not having great POA which left the bigs open for 3's or dunks. Gobert running wild on PnR was as much about the ball handler needing help as the lack of size. I think Ayton helps this a lot despite his mediocre pre-season but I'd prefer to get a POA defender as well as the West comes at you with different strengths
The majority of the playoffs roster is back. Ayton is the new guy, that will get a lot of PT right away. He's a big, run the floor and be a big dude. He'll be alright, I'm unconcerned.
DK 4-9 6 FTs 16 Pts DA 16 AR 21 Rui 16 Gabe 13 Jake 11 Good to see the balanced scoring 44% from the 3 line is nice to see
I need LaRavia to be a bit more aggressive in these practice games. Hachi, Austin, Gabe and Ayton looked good. Vando impressed with some good passes but couldn’t hit his threes. The defense in transition was non existent- I’m sure JJ was not happy about this. Forgot to add: Danny Green did pretty well in the Stu role.
Manon has suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain and likely won't be able to play for the remainder of the preseason
The team schedules its own preseason games remember. Not sure why they did a back to back, could have had a game in that week off instead. Hell, not sure why we even had a preseason at all at this rate, I guess they’ll just learn on the fly when the games actually count
Thiero (knee) will be re-evaluated in 2-to-3 weeks, Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times reports,
GREAT to see that the sideways hit on AR's knee apparently had no serious or even conservatively worrying effect. With the back to back AND Luka playing for the first time, one would think if there was any question about his knee he would not be out there tonight. Anyone that doesn't think that the other game out of the 3 remaining in which Luka suits up will be against the Mavs?
With no new youngsters(healthy) to get hyped about, this has been the most boring preseason in many years.
Agree to disagree. I had been looking forward to seeing a yet again improved AR and Rui with their next contracts and want of staying with the Lakers on the line, how Ayton looks, how Jake looks and have not been disappointed with any of them. Au contraire.
I already know what both AR and Rui can do. I’ve seen Ayton play well with the Suns. What we haven’t seen is how our new starting five will look together nor how Adou looks against faster NBA talent.
Yeah I know all that. But you of all people with "opinions" should respect that my "logical" (important when debating opinions) (certainly also allowed here) reasons for not having found the games "boring" so far. It was a long summer.

I checked with AI finally and yes Jaxson is out with a right ankle contusion and not expected back for several weeks. Time to step it up Christian. Going to be rough against Mav’s size down our 2nd string center.
